Why is my Dometic Brisk Air air conditioner not working?

The compressor starts and immediately stops. It goes again and stops. No cool air. It smelled like burning so I stopped it. After 20 mins. I tried again. Same situation.

Sounds like the compressor is seized up and the smell is from the clutch slipping when it tries to engage. If that is the case, you need a new compressor at a minimum.

SOURCE: RV air conditioner. Compressor running, fan stops before cool

The fan motor is getting hot and going off on the internal overload in the motor.
This is caused by either a low voltage, a bad capacitor, or tight or dry bearings in the motor.
To check the bearings turn the power off to the unit, then spin the fan blade if it spins freely then the bearings are ok.
To check the capacitor you will need some kind of tester or you can buy a capacitor and replace it, that's what a lot of people do. They usually don't cost very much.
To check the voltage you will need a voltmeter and measure the volts at the unit.

SOURCE: Brisk air, dometic rv a/c unit I can't get the

you must check the amp draw with a meter to verify if the compressor is locked up. if it draws L.R.A. amps which should be listed on the compressor it is lock up and needs replaced.

I have a Dometic 15K roof Ac on my FW. After the AC reaches therm temp, the compressor and the fan turn off, but the fan starts right back up again and runs until you set the thermostat on off.

That is normal operation, only the compressor cycles, the fan stays running to keep air circulating for better temp control. Otherwise the rear of the space could get 5 degrees warmer than the front

What is wrong with my RV ac unit ?

Low freon switch prevent the compressor from running when there is not enough freon to carry the oil to lubricate it. There is almost always enough pressure to start it but as soon as it's running low pressure drops and the compressor stops.

Compressor not starting

Most likely it is a small round overload found next to the wires going into the compressor. If that one seems ok then the next thing I would check is the capacitor. Might need a start assist.ce5a8bd.jpg

Compressor starts and doesn't stop

Relay for the compressor may be stuck ( Contacts welded) both the fan and the compressor should operate at the same time. Have the relay(s) checked and possibly replaced.
