Yes, the P42XTA51U has an ATSC (digital OTA) tuner. This is given in the specifications for the Fujitsu 51 Series TVs. That document is available here: http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/Fujitsu-P63XTA51US.htm . The direct link to the specifications sheet is http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/ht_tuner_brochure.pdf . Fujitsu had to include an ATSC tuner because the TV was manufactured in 2005. U.S. law required TVs over 36" have an ATSC tuner starting in 2005.

If you use the appropriate antenna, you'll be able to watch OTA broadcasts. I recommend checking with TVfool.com for antenna suggestions and the angle between your location and the transmitters. ( antennaweb.org assumes an external antenna but is very conservative in the list of available stations.)

Make sure also before you make any decision you check the in the menu under the audio tab that the speakers are set to internal and not external.
