What is your network IP address? You can find the address by using a command prompt and typing IPCONFIG and hit enter.

SOURCE: Network Setup for Pixma MP970

HI,

the easiest way to do it is to go to the computer with the printer attached, go to control panel, and printers, right click the printer you want to use and click sharing.
click the radial button "share this printer" and give it a meaningful name.
the go to your laptop, go to start, run and type the ipaddress of the computer connected to the printer in the form
\\nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn\ this will bring up all the shared folders and printers available on the computer. right click the printer and choose connect.
the rest of the process will be similar to installing a normal windows printer. it will appear in the windows print menus like any other printer.

of course you will need to leave the main computer powered on, not necessarily logged in, to be able to print from the laptop.

SOURCE: set up wireless connection canon mp620

I realize that you posted this question over a month ago...but I'll still give you your answer in case anyone else is also experiencing this.
All you need to do is enter in the correct password...the one you gave your router. Which I realize was probably a while back, and you didn't write it down (tisk tisk), so here's how you find out what you typed, way back when.
open up your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, ect...). Now in the search bar type in your routers IP address.
mine is: 192.168.2.1
yours might be the same or might be something similar...like: 192.168.1.1
only type that, and include the dots...no www junk.
once you typed it in, hit enter.
and now you should be in your router...then steps hold true for all routers I believe (mines a belkin).
it will ask for a password, most people simply leave theirs the default password, my password was nothing....literally, I just left it blank and clicked 'next'. yours might be 'admin'...a google search should help you find your routers default password.
Ounce you have the routers password, you have access to change a lot of the routers features...including finding out that pesky passphrase that your in search of.

your welcome.
I accept cash & credit. I'll send you the bill. ;)

SOURCE: Windows XP SP3 will not recognize the printer is connected.

It could be the cable, but most likly it is a damaged driver. try uninstalling the printer and all the drivers then reboot and resinstall it. You could also run "sfc /scannow" to see if any system files are damaged.

SOURCE: hello, im trying to install

The Canon is trying to connect to a wireless router or wireless access point which is connected to your computer network. Your Sprint 3g device is a wireless broadband device for Internet connection and cannot connect to the Canon using this device.
You need a wireless card that connects to the wireless router or wireless access point.
Otherwise you can connect to your printer using a printer cable.

Most WPS enabled access points use this protocol.Press the [Setup] button (B) on the printer. Use the arrow buttons (C) to select [Device settings] and press the [OK] button. Use the arrow buttons (C) to select [Wireless LAN setup] and press the [OK] button. The printer will now automatically search for access points supporting the WPS feature. The following message will be displayed on the printer's screen "Press WPS button of the wireless router about 5 sec. and press [OK] on this printer" Press and hold the [WPS] button on your access point for approximately 5 seconds, then release.
