How do I fix a door that wont stay closed?

The spring probably broke in the latch, or the door balance springs are slack. You have to pull it out and removed the side panels. The latch literally just holds it in place. You should be able to tell if the springs are holding the weight of the door though. Then split the door to inspect the latch.

Battery spring broke on wii fit balance board

I had a similar issue when my kids mixed rechargeable and regular batteries in the Wii balance board. The acid leaked and the springs corroded. But I figured out a quick fix - see photos. The springs look just like the spring-end of a safety pin, so I just snipped the ends of two safety pins and fixed them in with needle-nose pliers. Safety pins conduct electricity and the fix works fine. Cheers.11_25_2012_7_33_33_pm.jpg11_25_2012_7_33_48_pm.jpg11_25_2012_7_34_04_pm.jpg11_25_2012_7_34_17_pm.jpg

Driver side mirror bracket on car broke that holds breakaway spring. Can this be replaced? Thank you!

The mirror cover comes off exposing the pot metal attatchment points where the spring is attatched.Where the retainer broke ,all you have to do is take a drill and drill a hole just over from where the brake occured. Then take some pliers and pull the spring over and put the end through the hole. Fixed! Any local mercedes mechanic should know this fix . Call a round to find one who says he or she will do it.I think 30-50 dollars should be it, no extra parts are needed.

Spring broke on my curling iron

My husband uncurled one wrap on each side of the spring, giving enough wire to stick under the clamp. It's not a good solution, but it works for now.

The springs in the door broke. Where can I get the parts and can I fix it myself?

You can get replacement springs at an appliance parts store or on line. Remove the bottom front panes to get to the connection points for the springs on the door at the sides and on the bottom frame.

Where can I buy the cable repair kit for my Kitchenaid dishwasher

OK, pretty easy fix. Look at diagram 10 here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5164885

The link (#24) probably broke and the spring (#18) probably shot off and is lying somewhere behind the dishwasher. Just pull out the dishwasher (careful not to disconnect or crimp any of the hoses) and check to see if both springs (one on each side) can be located. Just replace the old links and re-hook the springs and all should be well.

You can order the link replacement (part #8194001) from kitchenaid at 1-800-422-1230.
