This is the solution that worked for me. Luckily I have another external drive of the exact same model that is working fine. I used the power supply from the good working model and plugged it into the bad drive. The bad drive booted right up. Evidently the power supply was the issue, not the drive itself. Even though the bad power supply had enough juice to light up the drive, it was not able to make the drive spin correctly.
how do I fix my external hard drive, because one day I turned it on and the drive was fine, the next day when I turned it on, it kept on flashing blue, does that mean that the drive is dead. Please help me with this.
