These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy.

SOURCE: Sony Vega Service Codes

The 7 blinks indicate an over voltage condition. The high voltage section has exceeded 33,000V. This is generally caused by a bad regulator. I don't have a listing for your model, but there should be a multi-pinned IC attachd to a heatsink marked STRxxx located close to where the AC cord comes into the set. Post the actual marking here and I'll get you the part number and cost. That is the regulator that may be the problem.

SOURCE: Sony Vega Service Codes

KV-32HS510 and KV-27HS420, seven times blink error code shows problem in Horizontal deflection circuit.

There are many possibilities like dry solder joints, weak capacitors, Horizontal transistor short or flyback transformer fried etc.

If you have little experience of TV repair and good solder skills and have necessary tools to test / check defective parts, then you can make it. you also need to have related service manual to see board location, schematics and part numbers.

SOURCE: Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32HS500...red standby light blinks 6 ti

I have over 10 years experience in electronic tech support.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described can't be fixed with
troubleshooting. Your TV will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you purchased an extended service plan they will repair the TV at no charge as well.

If the TV is no longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and labor. This is assuming that you only need one
circuit board or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards, the price of repair could go much higher.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

SOURCE: sony kv-32hs510 stand by blinks 6 times not abe to turn on the tv

It an over voltage or over current problem.....Turning the TV on and off or unplugging the TV may allow you to start the TV. Once started the TV may run for days until you turn it off.
The TV will require a new board to correct the problem...

What is the life span for the Sony Wega KV-32HS510?

10,000 continous woking hours is calculated to most of the CRT based TVs.
It is only calculation, but the life span might be much more that that. I've repaired a Sony TV recently, which was released by Sony Corporation Japan. The model is KV1820, an 18" Trinitron TV, still works perfectly. Just see, it is an '80 model one.
