Sears troubleshooting What could be the problem when plugged in,it just buzzes and trips breaker.

Is the dryer gas or electric? Does it plug into a 110Volt outlet or a 220Volt outlet? Does it trip the circuit breaker immediately or will it run for a while and then trip the breaker? If it is tripping immediately then there is a short inside the unit. If it takes a while to trip the breaker it can be that the outlet you are using is not a dedicated line and has other circuits connected to it. If that's the case you are overloading the breaker and causing it to shut down. If it is a dedicated line that you are plugged into then something inside the unit is heating up when its in use and overloading the circuit breaker. Then the unit needs service.

A buzzing followed by a breaker tripping shortly after usually indicates a siezed or shorted blower motor or its capacitor faulty if on indoor section, If from outdoor section could be fan motor or its cap bad, compressor or its start components faulty.

Would you write back and clarify what steps you have taken to narrow down your search? I'd like to know if the breaker is weak and needs to be replaced. Have you plugged your welder into another receptacle to see if it trips that breaker? I don't think the trigger has to do with this problem. The symptom is that as soon as you turn the welder on, it then trips the breaker. So this tells me that the electrical cord is not shorted. When the breaker trips, is there any delay or is it instant? If there is a delay, does it sound like it does while you are welding? Do you hear that "Transformer, buzzing noise"? The trigger activates the feed motor, that alone isn't enough to trip this breaker. Which make and size welder do you have? I really am dependent on detailed information, you are my eyes and ears. Hello jerrydj1021 - Often when the breaker trips, it is a mainly because there is too much current running on one circuit. Is the unit plug into a GFI outlet? It is not recommended to use GFI outlets or too many appliances plugged into that one circuit. Try plugging the unit into another direct outlet and see if the breaker trips again. You say the breaker supplies power to just one or two lights? And no outlets, fans, attic circuit? Map out all affected electrical boxes.
Move wire from suspect breaker to another same-size breaker and see what happens.
Move wire from the other breaker a to newly installed breaker, to check if breaker is main suspect.

Open each switch and outlet box affected by suspect breaker.
Disconnect power at light switch, and see if breaker still has problem.
Unplug all things from outlets on circuit.
One by one, check each electrical box for burned wires and loose wires.
Use nose to smell for burned condition.

A GFCI detects shorts in an electrical system and isolates power to prevent that device from harming other components upstream. GFCI's do go bad so that possibility exists. However, I would recommend trying to plug in your refrigerator into another outlet in your kitchen that has a different GFCI plug. If it does not trip then the GFCI needs to be replaced. If you do not have another available GFCI outlet and you plug it into a regular outlet, your breaker for that service line MAY trip. Better off testing with another GFCI. If your second GFCI trips, then the problem is with your refrigerator...meaning you have a short in your refrigerator. If you think this is something you can troubleshoot...BE CAREFUL!!! Always unplug your refrigerator before going into the components of the refrigerator. One thing you can do is turn both the freezer and refrigerator temperatures OFF or to their lowest setting. Plug your refrigerator in and see if the GFCI trips. If it trips you have a major short...probably in the bottom of the refrigerator. If it does not trip, turn the freezer temperature on first and see if it will run without tripping the GFCI. If it runs, then turn the freezer temp OFF. Then repeat the process testing the refrigerator components. Ice makers have been known to generate shorts in the system as well. There are various ways to troubleshoot a fridge. If you do not have the required electrical troubleshooting skills then PLEASE call a service technician.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

Do you have anything plugged in? If they keep tripping with nothing plugged in I would call a electrician to troubleshoot or replace the breakers. They may still be under warranty from Siemans.

start components are likely bad causing comp to pull high amps tripping breaker careful resetting the breaker they can explode stand off to the side
you need service all so have preventive maintenance done on the unit
