How to replace a light in a mag lite old police style flashlight?

Unscrew the top half of the flash light and pull the bulb straight up, and it's out,

Not to mention there's usually a spare bulb in the base of the flashlight under the spring in a piece of foam. unless someone used it already,

Line up the two pins and slide it back into the to pin holes on top and with the bottom of the flashlight back on with battery's try the on off switch and make sure it lights up and not have dead battery's, if it lights up throw away the old led and screw on the top of flashlight,

If it still don't light check for new battery's.

That is normal for a mag light.

I have been selling Mag lites for 20 years and have seen a multi colored light.

There shouldn't be one. Getting it out of there was probably the best thing for it.

I have tried to buy that same part for years and years and am told by the Maglite* company that it is not replaceable. ( so I have a box of about 5 old lites that are of no use :-( ).

The back of a Mag-lite screws off to replace the batteries. Look for textured lines like on a coin.

That's the way Maglight's all are.

Pull the cap off the end and wack it in your hand or a piece of wood, don't swing it like a baseball bat. Sometimes they get stuck in mine also, Not sure why, but a good wack gets the job done. Don't worry, the flashlight can take it.

I have a regular AA Mag light that had industrial strength batteries which corroded.I did get them out but the bulb holder on the light broke.(The main bulb holder where the twist on switch is.)
