I've removed it cleaned it and same message.

What you could try do is to remove both cartridges, close cartridges cover
Unplug printer for awhile, at least 30 minutes
Plug in printer and wait until printer stop
Reinstall both cartridges
This is to let the printer reset and do a new installation of ink cartridges

I changed the cartridge and it now works. I resent this though because it had been merrily printing before it decided it would stop and I have had to waste a three quarters full cartridge! I just hope the new one does not go the same way

maybe it suffered loss connection between the printer and the printhead just try to clean it..with alcohol..or maybe you print cartridge has in it's low ink state..

Try this... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00244394&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=420428 The message doesn't sound like exactly what you're seeing, but I'd try the step (two) about cleaning the catridges.

Check the expiration date on the cartridge, you may just need a new one. The date is printed on the side of the cartridge. They also just go bad sometimes.
