When scanning multi-page documents, the printer will crash and require power cycling before it will continue. Is there a setting or firmware revision that will help this problem?

Return to supplier for repair or preferably replacement. Better yet an entirely different machine. The entire Officejet Pro range is poorly made.

I have a HP Office Jet 6500. Can you tell me how to fax more than one page from the glass without redialing. After my first page is sent, can a prompt be set up asking if I have another page?

Put the documents you want to fax in the tray.Dial the fax number. After that the printer will scan the docs first and the send via memory.

If you need more help come back.Post / thumbs / testimonial are welcome!

I scanned a 17 page document to pdf and got a 15mg file which I could not sent by e-mail. Checking some other pdf files, I see a 47 page document that is only 5kb. What's the deal? BwO

Resolution you scanned it at as well as scanning in color versus black and white. Also, that 47 page document might be vector graphics and text rather than bitmap information.
Scan in 200dpi black and white to get a usable (readable) and small file. Should be about 100-200kbytes per page.

Acrobat 8.1

Upgrade to Acobat 9.0 Pro. It seems to work in that can scan pages for a document, HOWEVER, adding/appending to already scaned pages for a document seems to crash 9.0. For example, say I scan in pages 1 - 4. I cannot then scan pages 5 -6 as part of the same document--crashes Acrobat.

I think this finally proves the problem is Acrobat 8.0 and NOT the i40 drivers.
