Dvd is stuck in the player. The tray will open and partially close. But the dvd is stuck inside. Any instructions on easily removing it without taking the whole thing apart?

Sounds like the disk may be sticky on top and is now stuck to the chucking clamp. Try to cut power as the door tries to open, then open the door as much as it will aloow and you should be able to fish the disk out. If it is stuck, you may have to push down the disk with a screwdriver to release it.

SOURCE: LG RHT 398H. DVD tray not closing.

I've dismounted the unit and it seems that I have located the problem. The tray is connected to a wheel, so any displacement is translated into a rotation of this wheel. When the tray is near the close position, it releases a mechanism in order to position the lens. Summarising: if you have pushed the tray with your hand instead of pushing the button open/close, probably you have introduced a desynchonization. To solve this, when the tray is in close position, apply a small rotation to the wheel in order to compensate the desynchronization. There is not an exact position, but you need to try. A few degrees is enough. Regards

SOURCE: dvd player tray keeps opening and closing.

The tray position switch is disconnected or bent from disassembly. I expect one plug wire is off when you put the unit back. The tray switch is mounted so the tray strikes the switch when fully in and fully out.

SOURCE: DVD TRAY KEEPS ON OPENING AND CLOSING CONTINOUSLY

Hi, I have exactly the same thing. Happened before but went away when I got bored trying to fix it. This time I phoned LG support and they said take it back to Comet (they have bought out their servicing). End of conversation. Polite but firm.
Appalling support via their websites, appalling products. Never again.

When the open/close button is push , the DVD tray open and it close immediately without pushing button. The tray won't stay in the open positions.

check the close circuit switch inside the system. its maybe stuck, try to wiggle it a bit and it might work again.
the switch is at the end of the tray when it is closed, its a small black push botton swith.
be careful not to fry it when installing a new part

Dvd is stuck inside and drawer will not open

Yes, it was a piece of the addhesive dot that was stuck to the back of the disk. I unplugged the unit (of course), removed the 10 screws holding the cover on the chassis and that exposed the disk in its tray. I could not manually open the tray still, but I was able to remove the tape dot from the disk while it was still in its tray. All is well now.

The dvd disc tray opens all the time. I press close, or dvd or swith off, the tray closes but presently comes out.

Inside the DVD drive unit, there are a double microswitch on tray drive circuit board. Open this switch very carefully and clean the contacts. Carefully close the switch again. This cured my problem with the tray opening all the time.

Try removing the top cover, very often if the DVD is not in the tray it will be accessible to retrieve once the cover is removed.

E1 (rear) error. DVD tray will not open.

there might be a possibility that as soon as the tray closed the dvd shifted inside the machine. the dvd is stuck yes which means that the tray wont open because the dvd is blocking the gear turning. if so you are going to have to take it to your Dealership to open up the player and remove the disk. you can try it yourself but it's not recommended. tray gears will have to be tested to see if the tray will open once the disk is out though
