Steaming vegetables how do I...

Couldn't be simpler. Prepare your vegetables as normal ensuring root vegetables are cut into similar sized pieces and in a multilayer steamer the root vegetables will be in the lower section and the leaf vegetables in the upper sections with the fastest cooking at the top.

Depending how you like your veg cooked will depend on the cooking times. My wife boils the potatoes for a while before placing the steamer on top so all finish together - not a particularly scientific approach, just the result of experience...

Grinder spins. Hopper is full of beans. Why is no ground coffee dispensed?

You will probably find that the grinder is bunged up with grounds. This can happen if there is a bit too much steam inside the housings. The grounds bind together and will not drop with gravity. Pull the grinder apart, clean it out then run it with the top housing off and see if you can observe any leaks/steam. There will be some steam, you are looking for excessive steam.

My machine blinking on steam, the wand does not want t o steam, the espresso does not pour. The knob is turned on stand by , but still some steaming noise comes, but no steam comes from the wand, nor...

When it is blinking on steam it means it is preparing the unit for steam. When the steam light goes solid your unit is ready to make steam.

  • Turn from standby to steam then wait for steam light to go solid.
  • When solid steam wand will begin dribbling then spitting out water, which will then turn to steam.
  • When it begins to steam, turn back to standby. NOTE: you only have 6 seconds before steaming turns off.
  • place steaming wand in jug and turn from standby back to steam.
You will hear pumping noises when you turn off your steam, because it releases the steam and puts the excess water in to the drip tray.
  • make sure your bean hopper is properly locked in to the unit. Grinder won't work if hopper not locked in.
  • Make sure your water filter has been prepped and locked securely in to the reservoir and your reservoir is filled.
  • Use fresh beans.
  • Sounds funny but use good quality water, do not use ordinary tap water. Make sure it is filtered or use bottled water (cooler bottles).
  • Try to grind your beans to a good consistancy.
  • Breville recomends about 10kg tamping pressure, use a set of scales to check the feel.
  • Tamp to about 3-5 mm below rim of grouphead (portafilter). Or the tamp has a guide on the side, that silver side on the tamp is the tamp line. Pretty vauge about that in the book.
If all else fails go to www.breville.com.au and check your model and watch some of the vid clips.

Hello. I have a saeco vienna superautomatic

This happens due to condensation caused by steam developed at the end of the grinding cycle. Make sure that the grinding chamber is completely cleaned and dried before using the grinder.

  1. Turn the whole bean chamber to the right until it can be lifted off the base. This will allow you to clean the grinding wheel. NOTE: Never use water or liquid for cleaning the lower grinding section of this appliance.
  2. Clean interior recesses with a soft brush (not provided).
  3. Wash the whole bean chamber and lid and the ground coffee chamber and lid in mild detergent and water. These items are only dishwasher safe on the top rack of your dishwasher. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse mill in water or any other liquid or place in dishwasher. Use only non-abrasive cleaners to remove stains.
  4. After completely drying, replace whole bean chamber. Important: when replacing whole bean chamber, screw on completely before setting grinding rate. Turn chamber clockwise (as viewed from top), until it will not turn. Fill with whole coffee beans for grinding and replace lid.
  5. Replace ground coffee chamber and lid, making sure it snaps securely into place.

How do i use the pressure cooker? After adding water and beans, I let it come to boil and the steam noise is steady....then I turn down the heat? At the end I let out the steam manually, turn off and open...

Add the water and beans. Put the lid on the cooker and tighten down. Turn on the heat and let the steam make a full plume before closing the valve. Lower the temperature to medium. Watch the gauge and when it reaches the correct pressure keep adjusting the heat to maintain the pressure for however many minutes the beans need to cook. When the time is up turn off the heat and let the cooker cool for a while. Ten minutes or so. Then slowly open the pressure valve when the pressure has reduced to a low level. If the pressure is still to high when you open the valve the water will be pulled out of the beans and the jars will only be half full of liquid. Once the pressure is down to zero, open the lid carefully because the jars are still hot and break easily. As the jars cool you will hear them pop. This means that they are sealed. Good luck.

Saeco Odea Giro - alarm light continually slow flashing

I had the same problem. I filled everything up and closed it then took the hopper top and placed a small magnet that fit the circumference of the hopper sensor (I took one off of a refrigerator magnet and it fit down into the sensor) and it immediately went green. Hope it works for you.

Odea go

Hi,

Make sure all part is on place, take out the watertank and put it back again, make sure the brewing unit is fit in place.

After all part is on place, put a container under the steampipe and open the steam knob to make a cup of water, when the water comes in a steady flow, then you can close the steam knob again.

Hope this will help you.

Best regards
/Mirran
