If you can use the dashboard then you can reset to factory defaults from the system settings, if you can't log on at all then resort to xbox support for more options.

SOURCE: family timer glitch for 360

Hi,
did you try removing the mains plug, and leaving it off for about 24 hours ??
not sure whether these have a CMOS battery or not.
option 2, if it,s a premium ( with hard Drive ) try removing the hard-drive. Password/Timer probably setting on there rather than the Console.

SOURCE: family settings

You would have to get the old password and stuff from the other people or you can just buy a new harddrive and I think that should work.

SOURCE: Xbox 360 reset Code

Since that didn't work. Try to go and run "Initial Setup" again on the 360. That should solve the issue. If somehow it doesn't just give Microsoft a call at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and they CAN take care of that for you.

XBOX 360 Arcade, Game Driver San Francisco unable to load or play from the disc. Loads of memory aailable, Cleared cache. Only having prblems with this game. All other games work fine ?

It could be that it is a pre-owned game, I have had problems with pre-owned games, and have bought a new game that has not been used. Also I have just recently bought that game and had to do and update to the xbox 360 when trying to play that game, you should have got a message to update the system when trying to start the game.

On the x-box 360 it is asking for a family code and we dont know it as it was set by the previous owner, it is asking for fraviout fictional character. we need to rest it we have tried - LT RT X Y LB RB Y...

Reset all passcodes and security questions with this code:

Note: The reset code Microsoft support gives out is a unique button combo based on the 360 serial number. Best bet is to call Microsoft Support to get the code for your specific Xbox 360 serial n umber. Below is just one example of code given, but there are many.

1. On the 360 dashboard, scroll over to the "System" tab.
2. On the System tab, click "Console Settings".
3. Scroll down in console settings and click "System Info".
4. When the system info box comes up type in this sequence:
LT RT X Y LB RB Y "Left Stick in" (press it in) Y Y
A box should come up and say, "Would you like to reset the console to the factory defaults?"
Click Reset and you're done!

If this doesn't work, call Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX (U.S.). Provide them with your registration info and they will tell you how to reset the console.

or,

Call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX (1-800-469-9269).

Call Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX (U.S.). Provide them with your registration info and they will tell you how to reset the console. You will give them your xbox serial number and they will give yo a unique code that will enable you to reset the passwords and get back to your gaming. Make sure to try the code with them on the phone so you can ask them questions on where to go and how to do it.

I bought my xbox 360 from a buddy a few years back and my brother as of recent has been an *** and i want to set a passcode of the 360 itself so he cant use the xbox live without the code. and there...

From the System area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Family Settings, Console Controls.
Enter an incorrect pass code.
You will be told that your pass code is incorrect. Select Reset pass code.
You will then be shown your pass-code question and asked to answer it.

Hope that helps, best of luck.

I bought a used Xbox360 and the family timer is set on it. I want to reset this but unable to. There is a description on here that is a gentleman explaining how to solve the issue but its not working for...

When the Xbox 360 Family Settings are first setup, you are required to give it a four-button pass code in order to add or change settings.

There are two ways to edit or remove the Family Timer.

If you do have the pass code:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Enter your pass code.
  4. Select Family Timer.
  5. Select Disable.
  6. Select Done.
  7. Select Yes, save changes.
Now your timer should be disabled!

If you do not have the pass code:
  • Try contacting the previous owner.
  • Call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-469-9269

If you've forgotten the answer to your pass-code reset question as well as your pass code, please call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX (1-800-469-9269).

Or you could try resetting xboxs software by ("holding Y while turning on the box")
