How to replace the thermostat on BP y-600

I need a procedure to replace the thermostat on BP y-600. The oven gets too hot, doesn't seem be controlled with temperature.

Turn off gas supply. Open panel on left side. Loosen the top and bottom unions. Remove thermostat capillary line from the oven. Now remove thermostat with 2 pipe wrenches. install new thermostat and attach assembly to the unions you loosened. Now insert the capillary line back into the oven.

I just moved into a house with a Gaggenau EB 846-6. Light and fan work. Heating element doesn't seem to work in top or bottom 'socket'. Also, neither heating indicator light illuminates
since neither light is going on, then i believe that you either have a bad thermostat, or possibly that you only have half of the voltage going to it, and gaggenau doesn't have gas units so it doesn't have a glow bar like the previous guy said.

STOVE WORKS BUT OVEN WILL NOT HEAT UP - GAS OVEN
There are 2 high likelihoods as to what your problem may be. When you turn your oven on, does the ignitor begin to glow within 15 to 30 seconds? If it doesn't, there is no power going to the ignitor and the control mechanism is going to need to be replaced. If you have a manual dial thermostat control, you can order this on-line at parstdirect.com. If you control is electronic, you will be required to have an appliance technician come out in order to send the old controller in to be rebuilt.

If your ignitor is glowing when you turn on your oven, but it has a very dull orange glow, you have a bad ignitor and it needs to be replaced. This is the most common problem with older gas ovens. The ignitors just burn out after time and do not draw the amperage needed to open the safety valve.

Replacing the ignitor is a fairly easy procedure. Replacing a dial thermostat control can be a little rough due to rerouting the thermocoupler back through the oven body. Unfortunately, the electronic style oven controls can only be sent in for rebuilding and the company that you use will need to be able to handle "Retforrepr Rebuilds".

The oven wont get hot, it will warm up and the broiler seems to get hot??
You may get fooled into thinking it's working, because the oven is hot inside. But many electric ovens use the broil element, too, during the preheat and bake cycles. So the food may be getting heated only by the broil element, which causes poor baking results. If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem. To determine if the heating element is burned out, you will have to test the element for resistance across the 2 ends , with the meter set on the 200 scale if you get a good reading like 000 it would indicate that the part may be ok but if yoiu get a reading of a 01 or a 1 or lomething like this it would indicate tha part is bad then you need to replace it
However you will also want to First check to see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It could be lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This would cause the oven to not heat correctly. If the thermostat bulb is not dislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective. Electronic ovens with a digital display use a sensor to monitor oven temperature. To solve temperature problems for these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-display models, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See your operator's manual for details. Ovens without a digital display often use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. On many of these units, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to more accurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat. If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you can loosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. If the knob isn't adjustable, and the oven temperature is off by more than 30 to 40 degrees, you need to replace the thermostat to solve the problem. It won't broil

Stones get too hot, burns on bottom before top cooks
Assuming you have the oven adjusted properly maybe the thermostat might need to be replaced?
I would try and adjust the flame to a lower height before replacing the stat.

Oven burns things, very hot on bottom
The temp indicator light goes on and off according to the temp selected.
The sensor referred to is part and parcel of the the thermostat, or temp selector
the fact the light goes on and off, shows that the thermostatt is working, but neccesserily at the correct temp.I maintain that the thermostat that controls the temp is faulty, and needs to be replaced.
