Press the TV /AV button; either at the front panel of the TV, or at the remote control handset. If you're using a universal remote control with this set, it might not possible sometimes. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/

Hi. It is entirely possible that the set is already running at 120Hz after all. The display 1080p 60Hz is merely the signal it is receiving and the earlier TV's that used to claim 100Hz/120Hz merely did so using line doubling only to give a clearer picture by filling in the blanks between scanlines. If your picture is already very clear, then I wouldn't worry about it

I would suspect that your powersupply isn't giving the correct voltage to the mainboard (aka, tuner board) Once you open the tv, look for popped capacitors that are needing replaced. If you find any you will need to replace with the same uF value but a higher V value. This will correct the issue for the mainboard's voltage needs and you will notice that it will solve your problem.
If the power supply has been blown for awhile a mainboard replacement may also be needed, but I would try to fix the powersupply first to see if that corrects your problem!
Please rate and accept if this helped :)
