Check its system settings first.[PAL, NTSC, SECAM] etc. Select the appropriate system adopted your country of set this setting to 'Auto' if the TV is a multi-system compatible one. If this setting is correct and you still faces this problem, Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. No new video card required. I just reset the television by holding the on/off button for five seconds (yellow light on front panel blinks repeatedly). I then cycled power using the remote control and my picture came back. Worked for me. Hope it works for you.

I had the same problem last night - sound but no picture form any of the inputs - DVD, VCR, FIOS or antenna. I could still see the TV menu. If you go to the TV menu - you can go to the settings (far right top), from there you can choose to restore factory settings, usually needs a code - 0000 (if you did not choose a different one), select yes when prompted if you want to restore factory defaults. This brought my picture back. I lost all of my picture preferences i had set - but at least I got a picture! I hope this helps!!

Hello: One solution to see if the picture is there and you just don't have any back lighting is to take a flash light and shine it at the screen you if you see a faint picture in the background then the inverter boards has failed, and you have no back lighting. If you see no picture then more then likely the Main control board has failed or the power supply has problems.

Go to menu on your remote control and select picture setting and try selecting "default" setting to seeif you like the color, if not adjust contrast to about two thirds of the way and brightness to your liking and color to about the middle.

The 42RV530U is known to develop problems in both the power board and the main board.
