THROUGH F12 AT STARTUP

To access the System Restore, Refresh and Reset options using the F12 option at startup, perform the following:
  1. If not already, ensure the computer is completely shut down. How To: Shut Down a Laptop with Windows 8
  2. Now restart the computer by pressing the power button - IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F12 key on the keyboard until the "Boot Menu" screen appears.
  3. Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery> and press "Enter".
  4. On the next screen you are asked to confirm if you want to continue with recovery. Select "Yes".
  5. The computer will bring you to the Advanced startup screen.
  6. Select Troubleshoot. Under Troubleshoot you will see "Refresh" and "Reset".
  7. Select "Advanced options." Located here is "System Restore."

Cuisinart espresso maker

One question: have you tried the machine without the porta-filter attached? If it works through an entire cycle without the porta-filter attached, then the porta-filter is clogged. I've lost that special little tool to poke into the hole on the porta-filter, but a fine-tipped needle works just as well. Other pins that I've tried are too thick. Sometimes there's a piece of coffee that has made it through the top part of the filter gets stuck at the single hole that is the exit. Find an appropriate pin and poke around with it, then run WATER only through the filter. If it makes it through a cycle, you've fixed it. This clogging can happen very frequently with too finely ground coffee.

If however, your machine stops and beeps without a filter attached, then there's something restricting the flow inside the machine and your only alternative is vinegar, or similar decalcifier.

Good luck!

Inspiron 1501 wont start

Does it look like it is running with the exception of the screen being black?

Does it ever post anything on the screen when you hit the power button?

Beep tones and blinking lights tells thetechnicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lightscontinuous.

I'm working on an Emachine desktop PC running Windows XP Media Cntr Ed 2005. It worked fine for 6 mnths, but recently it wont get past a POST. It runs the POST startup tasks and then stops at the...

sounds like the CMOS memory is currupt, or you got a virus that worked its bay to the BIOS. I would first try to unplug the computer open the case and find the cmos battery. It looks like a big watch battery. Pull it out and leave it out for a good minute or so, plug it back in, and see if you can't get into the BIOS. If you do not find the battery. there should be a little jumper near the corner of your mainboard the says "CMOS" next to it. pull that out and leave it out for a minute or two. then plug it back in. This will clear anything in the bios and set everything back to factory defaults.. (this does not erase anything on the hard drive, just the options and memory in the BIOS)

Which key to press at startup to gain access to BIOS E2180 Intel

There are a number of keys used to access the system BIOS at startup. F2 is probably the most common, but I see you've already tried that. I've also seen the ESC and DEL keys used, so try those. If that doesn't work, start working your way across the F1-F12 keys.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

If you're trying to enter the BIOS, you can Hit & hold down the ESC, or F1 while the computer starts, and it should beep. You can see if the BIOS see's the hard drive.
