The easiest thing to check is the brushes. Unscrew each black (sometimes white) round cover on either side of the motor housing and see that there is enough carbon brush remaining.

Since the brushes were most likely ok, then I would suspect the solid-state control phase board. These are pretty easy to replace. You can find the service manual for your model on line.

Kitchen aid model kb25gixob will not turn on.any suggestions?

Put an ohmmeter across the two pins on the plug, on the mixer,,not the earth one.and turn the switch on.you should get a reading, plus it will change as you turn the switch to different settings.if no reading, suspect broken wire in plug,or mixer windings burnt out.try in a different socket

Kitchen Aid Model K5SS.Ran only on higher speeds for a time, now wont run at all.Power supply and brushes ok.

Hello oldandnew2,

The problem is in the speed switch, the contacts are closed and not allowign power to go thru it is a common problem with all of the kitchen aid mixer over a period of time the contactors get carbon build up. Take the back off and look at the bottom inside and there should be two little contactors see if the are burnt and try and clean them. If this does not work you will need a new one, post back the the tread and I will locate you one.

Thank you for being a member of FIxYa.

Kitchen aid stand mixer bought in US, moving to Europe, 220v 50hz

I can not respond to the warranty issues. My kitchen aid mixer is past warranty as well. I live in a country that uses 220V and my kitchen aid mixer is 110V. I have been using my kitchen aid mixer for almost 4 years with no problems at all.

The converter boxes are supposed to blow the fuse on the converter before it reaches your appliance and cause any problems.

If you purchase a 220V kitchen aid (although it would cost more money) it would probably have more power because of the higher voltage.

Hope this helps!

Kitchen Aid switching from mixer mode to grinder

There is no switch. When you have the accesory in the front, the beater section still moves. I suggest that you remove the beater so that there is less possibility for someone to get hurt.
