I can't see why you'd need to, but it can't hurt. The settings on the camera will be preserved as long as the battery's are left in.

Who do I contact about getting my cam repaired? A bear tore up some of the outside cover.

Guessing it was a Trail Cam, so moved question from Cars and Trucks!

No 'make model (what it is)', so impossible to answer. Contact the maker and ask if they do spares or repairs.

Why did my Tasco 119274cw camera stop taking pictures at night?

I found this, but perhaps there is no activity at night. Check it at 1:00am, the LEDs should glow.

Camera stops taking images or won't take images
  • Please make sure that the SD card is not full. If the card is full (display indicates "FULL", the camera will stop taking images.
  • Check the batteries to make sure that they are new alkaline or lithium AA batteries. See note above about short battery life.
  • Make sure that the Power/Mode Switch is in the ON position and not set to OFF or AIM.
  • Make sure that you are using a good quality SD card in your camera. Tasco recommends SanDisk® SD Cards up to 32GB.
  • If the SD card has its write protect switch in the lock position, the camera will not take images.
  • If you have used an SD card in another device before inserting it in your Tasco Trail Camera, you might want to try formatting the card using the "Format" option in Setup Mode (pg. 8). Make sure you have backed up any important files first, as formatting will erase all previous files. In some cases, other devices may change the formatting of the SD card so that it will not work properly with the Tasco Trail Camera.

I have a tasco 3mp trailcam that i have not used in atleast 2 years can not remember the password please help

To reset the password:

Turn unit on and wait for password prompt
Depress the and hold the enter button until camera switches into 5-digit password mode _ _ _ _ _.

Trail sentry systems will not indicate 5-digit mode on the screen, but will indicate _ _ _ _ instead of HHHH .

Press enter to confirm 5 digit mode

Enter 5-digit code 66214 and press enter button( trail sentry cameras will accept a 5th Digit after the 4th digit is entered in the _ _ _ _ screen.

Camera will now go into operating mode, and user can now program a new password from the setup mode.

Range on my trail cam is not very far would like to know how to change this

Range on a trail cam is maximum 45 feet, in perfect conditions. 20-25 is more realistic. Are you getting that kind of range?

I have a tasco trail camera, and i need to know what driver i need to install so i can upload the pictures from my trail camera to my laptop

Okay, I spent a lot of time refusing to accept that I couldn't get my tasco trail cam to work with my computer. I did figure it out though, to my relief. Tasco's directions are a little vague, but here it is: turn camera on, don't connect it to usb port, yet. After it turns on, push menu button, now connect it to your usb port. Disregard when it asks about installing driver software. If you follow these steps your computer will recognize it as another drive and ask open folder to view files, etc.
