Ive got a netgear ethernet hub model EN 104tp. i cant seem to getthe internet to go thru it, when i plug the ethernet cable from the modem to the hub , then another cable for the hub to the computer it comes up with limited or no conncetivity?
Seems to be issue with the switch. If you can get internet after bypassing the switch then it is for sure an issue with the switch. try connecting the cable to other ports of the switch.
If it still does not work then it is time for you to replace the switch.

The "limited access" message is an indicator that Windows has not been
able to get an IP address by DHCP, usually an encryption related issue.
I would recommend to use WPA, WPA2 encryption.
Remove all your wireless networks stored, re-add your own SSID(wireless network), make sure to type the correct encryption.
