try uninstalling and reinstalling the software using cd or download software at hp.com website for your printer.

delete both and re install.
If you are missing a dll then you may have had a virus that infected some files, and these may have been removed with a scan.
If you dont have your driver disc, download your software from HP / support http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=304535&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk

You can download the software from HP support for your DeskJet F380: (I recommend the full-featured software, not just the driver file)

Just select your Operating System, download and install.

To download the software, do the following:

1. Go to the Drivers page for your product. (see #2)

3. Click your operating system.
4. Follow the instructions on the page that appears to download and install the software.

You can also use the CD that comes with the product although the downloaded drivers are usually newer and more reliable. I would recommend using those if possible


If you choose the installation with the CD.. here are the instructions for that

1. Insert the product CD into the CD-ROM drive on the computer. The startup screen displays automatically. If the startup screen does not display automatically, use the following steps to start the installation manually:
   1. Click Start .
   2. Click Run . The Run dialog box displays.
   3. In the Open: text box, type D:\setup.exe , where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive, and then click OK .
2. Follow the instructions that display on the screen

How do I download and install the software? To download the software, do the following:

1. Click here to go to the Software and Drivers page for your product.
2. Click your operating system.
3. In the Driver section, click the appropriate software driver.
4. Follow the instructions on the page that appears to download and install the software.

How do I install from the CD? Two installation options are available when installing the software and drivers from the product CD. The recommended install installs everything your device requires to work, including a suite of software recommended for your installation. The custom install allows you to choose what software to install. The recommended install is designed to work for most users. Use the custom install only if you have one of the following reasons:

• Low hard disk space on the computer.
• You do not want the additional software.
• Errors occur during the recommended installation. NOTE: If errors occur during the recommended install, fix them before doing a custom install.

Recommended install Complete the following instructions to install the software: CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted to do so during software installation. HP recommends using a USB cable that is less than 10 feet (3 meters) long. NOTE: Choose unblock or accept on all firewall messages or the install will fail.

1. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer starts automatically. NOTE: The User Account Control screen might display. Click Continue .
2. Click Install on the Thank you for purchasing from HP! screen.

All you have to do is get the Driver CD insert then wait the instruction on the screen then follow the command prompt. until completely install the software then start printing.
