My V20 stick vacuums beater bar runs for a little while then quits, I've cleaned the bar by removing the bar to clean the dirt, strings and ect and also took the end of the bar off and cleaned it also

It's good that you have cleaned the beater bar and the end of it, as this is often the cause of the problem when the beater bar stops spinning.
If cleaning the beater bar and end of it did not resolve the issue, there are a few other things you can try:
  1. Check the belt: The belt connects the motor to the beater bar and if it is damaged or stretched, it can cause the beater bar to stop spinning. To check the belt, turn the vacuum over and locate the belt. If it is damaged or stretched, you will need to replace it.
  2. Check for debris in the brush roll housing: Debris can sometimes get stuck in the brush roll housing and cause the beater bar to stop spinning. To check for debris, remove the brush roll and look for any foreign objects that may be stuck in there.
  3. Check for a clog in the hose or the suction path: A clog in the hose or suction path can also cause the beater bar to stop spinning. To check for a clog, remove the hose and use a flashlight to look for any blockages. If you find a clog, use a broom handle or similar object to carefully remove it.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the motor or another internal component of the vacuum. In this case, it may be necessary to have a professional repair it.

Rug doctor make a noise then it started smoking and water was coming out of it

Sounds like the seal split.
Strip it down, clean, replace the motor and seals.

The progress light on the food saver is flashing red

The heater bar is too hot. Allow it to cool for a while before resuming sealing.

What does a flashing light on the dc28 vaccuum mean

There are a few things a flashing light could mean. One is that the beater bar has something stuck on it. Or, it could be that the bag or canister is full. Then again, maybe something is stuck in one of the intakes. Be careful when checking the beater bars. Unplug the vacuum before touching them, you wouldn't want your hands getting injured or fingers broken:( Clear anything that is wrapped around the beater bars, hair, string, etc., and then check the hoses to make sure nothing is stuck in them. If you have suction, the interior is clear. If not, then check in there to make sure nothing is clogging it. Good luck and be careful:)

Beater bar not spinning

Invest $20 in a replacement (see Amazon.com et alia); Dirt Devil beater bars have sorta-sealed bearings that burn out once wear puts enough particles in the works, and you'd have to replace and reseal bearings in there if you did get it open yourself.

Debris getting stuck in vacuum hose

Check that the filters are completely clean. If there are clogged they would have to be washed and then dried to room temp (or a low temp tumble dryer, put the filters into a pillow case with a towel and install into the machine) Tip the bissell backwards to make sure the bottom bin is pushed and locked all the way in. Only when the two seals meet will you know that the bin has locked in properly. Unhook by prising the main hose at the back off to check for clogs as well as the main hose at the bottom and the main dust channel at the sole plate where the roller bar is. You may have to remove the bottom plate to check for any obstructions behind the brush bar.
I have the Easy vac myself. Its not an Easy machine to maintain when it gets clogged!

Bissell 6579-2 bagless vacuum. Beater bar siezed up. motor turns. took bar out, no movement from either end cap on bar.

1. Uing the appropriate sized drift punch, tap out the steel axle rod which passes through the beater drum.
2. Each end cap houses a 608ZZ ball brg.
3. Check each brg for freedom of smooth rotation. Replace both if either is seized.
4. Replace with either 608ZZ (dbl shielded) or 608 2RS (dbl sealed) brgs.
5. Inspect and be prepared to replace the drive belt since it may have been damaged in the seizure event.

Bar on my Dyson wont turn

If its a standard DC07 you can check the belt by loosening the pegs on the sole plate with a coin. Once this is taken off you can inspect the belt.

If you have an All Floors model/Green DC07 then the drive belt is a sealed unit which cannot be replaced and must be fixed by an engineer.
