My GE Profile PTS25SHSARSS is leaking water. I notice every time I get water from the water dispenser, water leaks from the top of the refrigerator, next where the water filter is located.
My LG fridge started to leak at the top hinge were the water line runs after I had changed my filter. I took it out and replaced several times to make sure I installed it properly. Still leaked. So I just shut the water dispenser off. That was 1 1/2 years ago. Got looking at it yesterday and was going to buy a new one but for some reason I decide to turn it upside down at the sink and shake all the water out of it. Reinstalled it it VIOLA! NO LEAKS.
So, the only change point was the filter. That had to be the issue. But, I don't no why. I ran about two gallons of wate4 thru it and the water is crystal clear. Since no water has passed thru it it's like brand new. Glad it's working and not leaking but would like to know WHAT was wrong with the filter.
Shut off water supply valve. Relieve water pressure by dispensing water. Unscrew water filter. Examine to see if the gasket is damaged or if filter was loose and just needed tightening. Or simply replace water filter with the correct water filter that your GE refrigerator calls for.

I am having the same problem, it leaks with a filter and without a filter, I even tried making it really really tight. What else could it be?

The water dispenser problem may be due to a defective water control valve. But when the refrigerator leaks this needs to be solved. The area above my water filter in my refrigerator is leaking. I doesn't leak until we run the water in the front of the door or the icemaker runs.I have changed the filer and the problem persists. Is there a part above the filter that needs replaced? The model # is GE TFX26ZPDABB. Thanks.
