Cannot remove system error is found message from the hdd section ... Dvd plays fine.

Assuming you have tried different makes of cd or dvd disks, it's a classic drive failure problem where the laser can no longer burn or read dvd's, but may still be able to read cd's only. You will have to replace the drive, they are quite inexpensive, and very easy to fit.

i have connected LG DVD WRITER in computer but it is not showing icon of dvd writer in computer
The built in dvd drive of the
Hr-720 is very useful to be able to copy videos from the hdd to dvds. After a
few months, my dvd rw refused to format rw disks and gave system error messages.
Managed to fix the problem by
doing the following:
Remove the top pvr cover.
Then the dvd drive cover is very easy to remove, only 5 screws and it is off.
Cleaned lens with cotton bud +
cd cleaner fluid
Sprayed lens assembly
traversing rod with wd40
Adjusted dvd potentiometer (circled
in red) - turned +540 degrees clockwise = 1.5 turns
The significant tweak here is
the pot adjustment. The idea is to reduce the diode resistance to get more
current through the dvd laser = more power. I noticed a difference straight
away with the first tweaks of 180 deg at a time, the dvd would load more
quickly and several formatted successfully. The pot should be set to between
4k-6k ohms, but there is no obvious way of measuring this.
So Im hoping this should be
ok now. It is worth trying as the dvd drive in its previous state was useless
electronic junk anyway, although the hdd has always been fine.
