J2 is the indication that the Drum Cartridge life has elapsed. The possibly exists that the Customer has installed a New Drum Cartridge. The Customer would be directed to change their Drum Cartridge by their User Guide. This action on the part of the Customer will cause the Drum Reset Switch to actuate for a moment when the Side Door is closed. This is with the provision that the Drum Reset Circuit is working properly.
That momentary actuation of the Drum Reset Switch, being actuated by the New Drum, resets the Drum Counter. Should something be faulty with either the reset mechanism on the New Drum Cartridge, or the Drum Cartridge reset Switch circuit, the Counter will not reset.
Note: A new Drum Cartridge will
NOT reset the Drum Counter unless the machine is
holding a
J2 presenton the display. The first revolution of the Drum will render the Drum Cartridge
used.
A Used Drum Cartridge will NOT be capable of resetting a J2. Again, one revolution of a new Drum Cartridge will render it to be a used Drum .
