Every iPad should be capable of sending email. You first have to setup the account, in settings, then email, then add new account.
While entering a new account, you have to fill in all settings correct, so you need to know it it is a POP or SMTP server, you must fill in the complete and correct e-mailadres and server name and the correct password. if filled in and you press next, the program will check the validity of the address. Only if the address exists and the password is correct it will tag everything green. Then you can use the mail address. It must be an existing mail address. You can't create new addresses in that part.
I'm not sure if you are running the iPad on a G3 or G4 network from BT, because that firm can try to block other mail, to save bandwidth, but I don't believe that.
You should be able to setup the BT account. If you keep having trouble setting up the BT account, visit a bt store and ask them to setup your mail address

SOURCE: yahoo mail id not receive/ send the mail

if its truly blocked, you are on a blacklist and Yahoo! Customer Support is the only one who can help. Most likely the problem is just a temporary issue with your id, and you should try 30 min later.

SOURCE: NEWlaptop, want to set up adresss

If you have already made an address book in any other email ID of yours (e.g. Gmail) you can import all the contacts directly to your Yahoo ID. If you have set up a contact list in Windows, that can come in handy too, if you export it to a .csv file and import in Yahoo mail.
If you have not set up any address book so far in any ID, then its a manual task for you to add each entry individually.

Btinternet rejected my password to obtain my E mails

If you normally use an email program like Outlook or Mac Mail, try logging in to your webmail. If you can see your webmail OK, then it's likely to be a problem with the way your email program is set up.

I cannot get or send emails. my server is not working

This indicates either an incorrect password or server settings. Make sure your account is setup as follows:

IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 993 (this should be automatically populated if you tick the SSL Encryption)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
Root folder/path:
Folder separator: . (full stop)
Please do NOT enable "secure password authentication" (SPA). It's not needed when you use SSL encryption and won't work.
If your IMAP client supports it, we recommend you also set up the following folders:
Trash
Sent Items
Drafts
POP3
Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 995 (this should be automatically populated if you tick SSL Encryption)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
POP from folder: By default, POP will pull emails from your Inbox
SMTP
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 465 (this may not be automatically populated on selection of SSL, so you'll need to check this)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Authentication: PLAIN
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password

Why cant i send emails from [email protected]

To be able to send mails, you have to be logged in to the account. Only then you can send the mail. But when btinternet.com, is a POP3 and STMP server provider, it could be you deleted the settings for the POP server or they are changed one way or another. Please check or fill in both server settings in your browser(s) see if they are correct, or renew them.

I cannot send e mails but can receive

Maybe you need to check the settings of your account.
Your provider should be able details like outgoing server and (under advanced settings) if you need a password to send mail and if or not you should use SSL.

Can't send e-mails

It sounds like your SMTP is incorrectly set up. You should speak to your Internet Service Provider to get the correct settings.

Hi, this message appears and I can't receive messages...but can send. Any ideas? Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server:...

I do not like Outlook, it is not good, I choose to use IncrediMail, I think it is good, you can try this, reset the details, and it will not appear that problem. You can get it here:

I cannot send my email. I can receive. Been working with tech support 2 days. Am frustrated.

you cannot send but you can receive? this is a settings matter.

Start the mail program, outlook express for example, click on tools, accounts, hightlight the mail account and select properties tab, select the servers tab an put a tick in the box that says "my server requires authentication" click apply and job done.

Sending email

here are the settings for btinternet, if you use "outlook" you must manually configure them!

  • The POP3 server (incoming mail) is mail.btinternet.com
  • The SMTP server (outgoing mail) is also mail.btinternet.com
  • Both need your BT Yahoo! email address and password; you will have to tell your e-mail program that the SMTP server requires authentication.
  • The SMTP server can use either port 25 or port 587.
The most common fault is to provide your ADSL username and password when your BT Yahoo! username and password is what's required.

good luck and regards
