Not cooling and keeping make click sound - GE GSL25JFPBS Side by Side Refrigerator

Try taking it off the swing function. Only clicking I can think of, louvers getting jammed???

Without a compressor analizer you will need to check the winding
resistance. or you can just cross your fingers and hope the relay
and start capacitor are the problem. Sounds like the condenser coil was plugged so you could possibly have a locked up compresor.I doubt it is low on refrigerant charge.

If it is clecking it will need to be tested. Feel the top of the compressor to see how hot. Can you keep hand on top of compressor? Too hot to keep hand there? What is the model number of your refrigerator? Thanks Sea Breeze

what's the brand name and model number?is the ice maker working good,i've heard the clicking sound coming from the ice maker before,the white arms that spin around get stuck and the motor keeps clicking trying to advance.check the inside freezer back wall to see if there's ice or like snow on the inside back wall,you could have a defrost problem and the fan when it's spinning could be hitting ice.or a bad timer if it has one.i'm just guessing here,you're there i need you to open the doors and try to listen to where the sound is coming from and send the brand name and model number so i can try to help you better.

Thier is one of a couple things going on with your refrig.

The start relay on the compressor is bad so what your hearing is the overload thermostat tripping on and off and keeps trying to start the compressor

The fan motor by the compressor called the condenser fan motor is not running to cool the compressor so once and what you overload keep trying to start the compressor but its too hot to start

Finally the compressor is locked up and the overload still keeps trying to start it but its totally seazed and ain't going to run

Lets try doing this by plulling away from wall and unplug the power cord. Remove lower cover over the compressor and with power disconnected feel top of compressor. At the moment I am focusing on the compressor because when you hear fans running they tend to hide the sounds from compressor. I want to see if the relay or start/run capacitor are OK first. Please review and respond, Appliance 911, Sea Breeze

try replaceing start kit on compressor. can get a universal start kit 3 in 1 at a refrigeration shop. smaller kit hp . instructions on kit and bag it is in. If does not work... compressor bad. make sure condensor fan motor working also. it keeps compressor cool and helps cooling.

sounds like the main board has failed . if this unit is g e made the clicking sound is the relay on the board / a very common problem with g e units. mm

I have the same problem as stated with the light flashing and fan tries to rotate. I found by disconnecting the power wires to the cooling unit, the fan rotates. light works and no clicking sound.
I suspect the cooling assembly is defective causing the unit to not work properly.
Does any one have a part number for this part and where I might purchase the cooling unit. RepairClinic.com does not have thhe cooling unit.
