How can I transfer my video clips from my camcorder to my window 7 pc so I can then put it on dvd. I am told that my JVC camcorder GZ-MG21EK is not compatible with windows 7
Unfortunately, you'll need to use a computer that has WinXP or Vista in order to transfer what you have on the hard drive. So you have two choices: Go to a pawn shop or goodwill, etc. and buy an inexpensive XP computer - preferably a laptop. You shouldn't have to pay more than $100 for one of these. The other option is to send your camera to a repair shop or dub house that will copy the data to disc and return both to you. Expect to pay about the same $$ for this service. YES!!! I GOT IT!!! Ok so the comp doesn't recognize the damn camera. I went around the problem!!! OOO so excited!!! Ok sooo simple, you'll slap yourself! Ok. First plug in your USB cord to the comp and you'll see the options play on pc, pc connection, etc. Select CREATE DVD! (You won't be able to see or select any of the files you are going to import, oh well.) You should see the regular screen pop up that says import, create, view pictures. Click IMPORT PICTURES. It will automatically import both pictures and video. For file name write something you can easily locate, ex: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA (you can change it later) Then open MOVIE MAKER. Click on IMPORT on the upper left hand corner and you'll see their demo video listed. Click on picture and video files on the bottom right hand corner and select ALL FILES. You should see what was downloaded!!! YAY!! I haven't burn a DVD yet but the files are there and the program should do it from there!

Save yourself a lot of frustration. If you have this camera change the extension of the files from .mod to .mpg and it will be compatible with a lot more video editing programs.

What have you done to this camcorder since
then? Have you taken any new video with this camcorder?
You may not know that the deleted files are
still on the camcorder even after the deletion process. However, any new file
on this camcorder also can overwrite your previous deleted videos and make them
gone permanently.
So, take care not to do that stupid thing
in case of data loss.
And then, you can try to restore your deleted videos back easily by using a deleted file data recovery freeware that has ever successfully got
back the inaccessible files of many people here:

I found this freeware on a popular forum as
I accidentally deleted my pictures off from a phone memory card. It has done a
great job and retrieved all my wanted pictures back. You should also take a
chance with this freeware.
Hi,
There are three ways of transferring the videos from the Camcorder to the Computer. One is by using the Picture Motion Browser Software, other by using the A/V, USB cable after finalizing the disc in the Camcorder and finally using the DVD-ROM Drive in the Computer after finalizing the disc. If you're trying to transfer using the 2nd and 3rd option, the the disc in the Camcorder should be finalized.
Also make sure that the disc is formatted in DVD-Video mode instead of DVD-VR mode. VR mode recorded discs can only be played back using a VR Compatible Software/Player or in the same Camcorder. DVD-Video mode recording will help you in playing the discs in all the Players and DVD Viewing Software.
I always recommend transferring the videos to the Computer using the supplied PMB Software.
