Why does my Pentair Booster LA01N sound as if it is spraying water internally ?

It does pump water into the pool via the side hole in the pool where the legend platinum hooks up. So to say its functioning is true but as the title states it sounds as water is spraying internally. its very loud. What part has failed?

I think it's got air in it - that's what cavitation sounds like. Is the pickup gathering some air? Do you have an air bleeder near it someplace, or a valve you can use to bleed air out of it?

SOURCE: Do I need a pressure tank with a Pentair Water 3/4Hp Pres Wtr System 3075Ss Utility Pumps?

Depends on your application. If you are using it to provide water to a residence or other on/off use, you need a pressure tank and a pressure switch to control it. If you are filling a open air tank, no pressure tank needed. If you are just pumping water out of a well and directly to an ditch type irrigation system no tank needed.

How to remove the impeller of pentair booster pump?

Remove the rear motor cover, you will need pliers and a 7/16 open end wrench. The opposite end of the impeller has a shaft that has to be secured by the wrench. The shaft has a notch on each side, it could be behind the two small springs that hold the spinning connection. There is a bigger shaft version that needs just a small end cap taken off and that will expose the shaft to be held and that is a bigger wrench. Once the shaft is secured, you may need pliers to turn off the impeller. Turn counter clockwise. Remember to be careful, it's plastic and well used. Don't forget the seals to put it back together.

Hi, My booster pump for my pool is very loud. It is a Pentair model number LA01n. It has gotten louder over a period of about 2-3 months. It has a small leak in the front seal and I had the seal...

YOUR BEST BET IS TO COMPARE MOTOR REPLACEMENT TO AN ENTIRE PUMP REPLACEMENT
MORE THAT LIKELY ITS PROBABLY NOT A GREAT INVESTMENT TO JUST DO A MOTOR ON A BOOSTER PUMP
YOUR MOTOR IS NOISE IS COMING FROM BEARINGS INSIDE THAT ARE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE
NOW A DAYS I STRONGLY DON'T RECOMMEND EVEN TRYING TO REPLACE JUST BEARINGS THEY NEVER LAST LONG AND ITS ALMOST AS COSTLY
HOPE THIS HELPS--CHARLIE -POOL PROS

Pentair booster pump

First things first. if the drain plug is not in the pump you would see water shooting out of it. Since you said its your first time i must ask if you have the main filter pump on and the booster pump on at the same time, because this is the only way that it will work. Next follow the hose coming out of the top of the booster pump until it goes into the ground, and make sure all valves are open, and then do the same with the hose coming out of the front. If water is coming out of all of the other returns, and just not that one it is probably a valve, but if you have no water going back to any returns, then you have a bigger problem.
