Does the warranty expire when it changes owners

I purchased a 5+ year old troy built tractor from a guy who just had the transmission re-built at an authorized troy built service shop in the fall of 09', and over the winter the case on the t-mission blew again. He told me he, and I realize he wanted to get rid of it, that the t-mission should still be under warranty, because it was repaired at an authorized repair shop. All I have at this point is the service statement from the repair shop (no prof-of-purchase). What should be my next move to avoid the $600.00+ bill for a re-re-built transmission from Lennon's in Gloversville,NY and is it worth $600.00???

Troy Built Pony- will move in reverse but not forward.

There could be several reasons why a Troy Built Pony lawn tractor will move in reverse but not forward. One possible reason is a faulty transmission. The transmission is responsible for transferring power from the engine to the wheels, and if it is not functioning properly, the tractor may not move forward. Another possible reason is a broken or worn out drive belt. The drive belt connects the engine to the transmission and if it is damaged, the tractor may not move forward. Additionally, a damaged or worn out pulley can also cause the tractor to move in reverse but not forward.

To diagnose the issue, it is recommended to check the transmission fluid level and condition, inspect the drive belt for any damage or wear, and examine the pulleys for any signs of damage or wear. If any of these components are found to be faulty, they should be replaced immediately.

In conclusion, if a Troy Built Pony lawn tractor is moving in reverse but not forward, it could be due to a faulty transmission, a broken or worn out drive belt, or a damaged or worn out pulley. It is recommended to inspect these components and replace them as necessary.

How to push a Troy Bilt 7 speed Pony lawn tractor

Lack of Lubrication. Without adequate lubrication, the gears in the transmission can become reluctant and hard to shift. Check the transmission fluid level regularly and change the fluid based on the schedule recommended in the owner's manual provided by Troy-Bilt.

New tractor power loss on a grade, deos not develop full speed

Hello Joe

If you have an automatic or hydrostatic transmission then you have a lemon, which means once the oil heats up in your transmission it thins out and clutchs and swash plate have no grip on the drive system which is hydraulic pressure needed to hold on the shaft and axles this happens all inside the transmission you cant see it but you can tell when going up slight hills and when you have the blades engaged it crawls like a turtle get you warranty out Joe..... dont touch anything that may void your warranty..... just call service department they will send service man out to your home even after that keep a good eye on your tractor since its still under waranty for further problems.

Joe your 20 year old craftsman had a better built ****** by sears and you probably had a 6 speed or five speed even hydostatics were good too, they dont have much problems except belt slipping its an easy fix this new tractor u need service man right away.

DOES TROY BUILT PONY MODEL # 394358 HAVE A OIL FILTER 17.5 HR 42" CUT

Your owner's manual indicates to change the oil and replace the oil fitler on page 19 as part of the regular maintenance schedule. Whether or not your exact engine application does indeed have the filter is the engine manufacturer's option. Here is your manual.

Troy built lawn tractors, belts

You may have a pully that is not spining freely. Or you may have a pully that is not positioned straight. Ariens had a problem with that. so your troy built may have the same.
