If you battery is over 2.3 years old replace it.

If under, try recharging it.

Put camera into "M" on the dial.
Put lens to "M" and set Aperture Ring (if it has one) at max high number.

No luck, turn off camera & take battery out.
Then put back in after 1 day.

If the rest of the camera gets power, then the usual cause is impact that breaks the LCD glass where it connects to the flexible circuit. As Nikon has stopped selling parts this is going to have to go to Nikon.

D90 won't work. Blinking Clock in top LCD panel.

First, turn the camera off and then remove and reinstall the battery. Turn the camera back on. If the clock and battery icons still appear, try resetting the clock. If this doesn't work, contact Nikon technical support at www.nikon.com and see what they have to say. It may require a repair but determine if the camera is still under warranty. If so, Nikon may repair it at no charge.

Screen is black when i attempt to take pic

Hi,
Move all the pictures to the camera memory card from your internal memory. Since you have to open the camera, the pictures will be lost otherwise. Save your pictures. If you do not have a memory card, transfer all the pictures to your computer.
Remove batteries from the camera.

Purchase a replacement LCD screen, specific to your camera. These replacement screens can usually be purchased directly from Canon or from a camera resale shop. Auction websites should also carry LCD screens specific for these cameras. Use the mini screwdriver to remove the four screws from the back of the camera. Be careful with this step since the screws are tiny. Take the back cover of the camera off carefully. Inside the camera, there is a piece of foam that supports the LCD screen. Do not remove the foam. Set the bottom portion of the camera to the side.

Turn the top portion of the camera so it is facing upward. Notice how there are clips holding the LCD screen in place. Carefully lift these clips up and remove the broken LCD screen. The screen clips are extremely fragile and break easily if they are lifted too quickly. A gentle touch is key.Place the new screen down gently and replace the clips. Gently dust the screen so fingerprints are removed.Turn the top portion of the camera down so the screen is pointing down. Place this on top of the foam padding. Turn the screws carefully. The best way to screw the back of the camera in place is to first screw in one corner, move to the corner that is diagonally across and turn that screw. Repeat for the other two screws.Replace the batteries. Turn the camera on and see if it is function.

Thank you !!

How can I turn off the flash?

With the camera in shooting mode, press the top of the omin selector (4 way) and you will see an icon on the LCD. Press the top until you see a lightning bolt with the "no" circle/bar around it. Then press the Set button. This must be done each time you turn the camera on.

Monitor does not stay on

The LCD monitor screen at the back of the camera does not display a live picture like many point-n-shoot digitals. It only displays after the pic is taken. Use the LCD on the top cover to check your settings. Please leave feedback if this helps.

I have an olympus digital camera fe-170. when i turn on my camera, the lense come out and the LCD screen is black, when i try to turn it off, it doesnt turn off, but after like 10 seconds it turns off by...

The lens is bad, needs to be replaced. Maybe purchase camera on ebay with broken LCD but good lens. Replacement can be time extensive. Will need #00 or #000 phillips screwdriver and solder iron. Remove 6 exterior screws+2 inside battery door. Take off front panel, remove top screw holding back panel; remove back panel. Remove 2 screws(left side top & bottom)from LCD, unplug LCD by flipping hinge up on plastic connector, pull ribbon. Remove 6 screws along outer edge of electronic board + 2 screws behind lens. Unsolder 2 battery connectors near top right side(do not melt or burn ribbon in between them). Disconnect ribbons at top right and on left edge of board. Flip board over to the left side carefully as it's still connected by 4 thin wires. Remove 3 outer screws holding lens, remove lens. Replace with good lens. Assemble camera in reverse order.
Good luck and be CAREFUL!

I don't see anything in the color LCD.

If the color LCD is not illuminated when the camera power is turned on, check the following: * The camera may be in the wrong mode. Run this check to test the LCD: 1. Make sure the camera power is on (the lens cover should be open). 2. Press the Review button (top left) on the back of the camera. The LCD will display the last photo taken. To exit the Play mode, turn the camera power off. * The camera may be connected to a TV. Disconnect the camera from the TV and try the LCD again. * The batteries may be weak. Replace the batteries or use the AC adapter. To save battery power, use the optical viewfinder when composing photos.
