Your vehicle is full of 'front seals'.

Wheel bearing seals.
Brake caliper seals.
Front transmission seal.
Plus a load of engine seals.

At minimum, a full socket set, a full set of open ended and ring, wrenches and a seal pick. Probably circlip pliers.

oil seal failure is the main killer of rubber timing belts . Oil can come from the crankshaft seal --the cam shaft seal/s and the hydraulic belt adjuster.. So if you have the front off and am replacing the timing belt then it is fools economy not to replace the seals and any idler pulleys at the same time.

ou may need to remove the front pump and replace the seal on the pump and the converter seal as well

You would save yourself alot of headache to just get a new or rebuilt pump. But most ring seals can be replaced by taking off the pulley, then any retaining plate over the bearing/seal/shaft to expose the seal. Then pry out working around the seal with a seal pulling tool or small flat screwdriver. To install new seal, coat outer race and inner seal rubber of seal with a very thin coating of fresh motor oil, tap lightly around seal to get it started in seal cavity be sure it is even all the way around. Then get a socket or sleeve the same diameter as the outer diameter of the seal, place over the seal and tap it down gently until fully seated. Re-assemble casing and pulley.

Just replace the seal. BUT, as the bearing is exposed, hook it out, and inspect the Bearing Rollers.
If OK, Install the new seal, Lube the Seal inner dimension. Torque the bearing Input shaft Yolk to the correct torque loading. Drain and Refill the DIFF. OIL.

That seal typically comes with a pack that includes all the cam bearing seals and the valve covers seals. It very easy to replace. Remove the valve cover and discard the old seal, remove the old cam shaft bearing cap seals. Replace the bearing cap seals and the valve cover seal and replace the cap and cover. Tighten the bolts to about 30 lbs and that should resolve the problem.

If the seal is in the jet pump, get an impellor tool and replace all the seals and bearings in the jet pump. You will have to pull the engine to replace the crankcase seals or the rear hull seal.

Top and bottom seals:
It is best to replace both at once to assure the new seals are pliable and come together to form a water tight seal.

Replacing only one, the old seal is probably stiff or cracked and will not seal properly.

No secrete I am aware of except clean new and level parts.
