I want to know how to avoid highway 407 in my gps it showing always but i dont like to take 407 so that's why i want to know

When you plan an itinerary, and the GPS gives the 407, look for an alternative. You will be able to use the avoid (roads, toll roads, etc.) feature. My TomTom allows me to avoid specific places.

No gps signal with tomtom

Solution for No GPS Signal

To pinpoint your location, you need to get signals from at least 4 satellites. If you receive signals from less than 4 satellites or the signals are not strong enough, the Driving View stays gray and one of the following messages is shown in the bottom right corner of the Driving View:
  • Waiting for a valid GPS signal
  • The GPS signal was lost sec ago
Note: In previous versions of the TomTom application the message may vary.
If you see any of these messages, try the following:

Finding a GPS signal
In the following cases it can take up to 5 minutes to find your current position:
  • You use your TomTom device for the first time.
  • You haven't used your TomTom device for a longer time.
  • Your TomTom device has been relocated without using it (e.g. after traveling by plane or train).
If it takes longer than 5 minutes, make sure that you are in an open place without tall buildings or trees around you.
Once your TomTom device has located your current position, the Driving View is shown in full color and shows your position on the map.
Tip: Most TomTom devices can use QuickGPSfix™ to locate your current position faster.

Flight mode
On devices with built-in GPRS connectivity, flight mode also disables your device’s GPS reception.
To switch flight mode off, tap Flight mode in the preferences menu and then select Restore connections.

Clear View
Your TomTom device must be outdoors to locate your current position.
Try repositioning your device in your car; ideally, try to position it at the lowest possible point directly on the windscreen.
Some vehicles have a heat reflective shield embedded in the windscreen, which may prevent your device from locating your current position. If this is the case in your vehicle, use the TomTom External Antenna Kit (available as an accessory).
Tip: As a reference, place your device outside your parked car to see if it can find your current position.

Reset your device
Reset your TomTom device. Click here to learn how to reset your device.

Install the latest application
We recommend always having the latest version of our application installed on your device.

5 MPH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAR AND TOMTOM GO 530

The TomTom is being tracked by upto 11 satellites, therefore the speed on your TomTom is correct. Generally a speedo in a car is around 5-10% inacurate.

Destination download

this is a flaw with TomTom. The way I do it is this, after you input the address, touch, details, then, browse as text, scroll down to the very last instuction and touch that. This will open a window showing an arrow pointing which side of the road the final destination is on. Good luck.
If this helps you plz rate it fixya. Thank you kindly.

Does not show max speed allowed it is 6mths old

I have found that the maximum speed is not known for all roads so only the speed is displayed.

Where the max speed is known for a particular road it should always work for that road. If not then there could a problem with the GPS.

Floating in space even on interstate

As I always suggest, your maps might be off if you haven't updated since you bought the device, or haven't updated in quite some time. Run the device through TomTom Home to update your maps, and it should provide the fix

Direction of scroll while navigating

The Garmin units have three ways to view the map - 3D, 2D North Up or 2D Track Up. I believe the Tom Toms have just 2D or 3D. If you are asking if the Tom Toms can Track Up (which is what it sounds like you are asking), I believe the answer is no.
