I HAVE A ZANUSSI AQUACYCLE WASHING MACHINE ZWF1221W. IT WORKs THROUGH THE WASH BUT JUST BUZZES ON THE RINSE CYCLE. I CAN TURN IT TO SPIN & EMPTY AND THAT WORKS AS WELL.

clair you may have a cold water problem, it may have filled with hot water and gone through wash cycle but as it got to rince it only fills with cold water ,the buzzing may be the cold water solenoid staying open and if there is no water passing through it will make a buzzing noise,
1.check the cold water valve # is on . it's what the blue /cold hose is connected to, also in some hoses there is a filter ,it's possible it could be blocked but unlikely.
2. check the cold water hose has not bend in half from the wall valve to the washing machine, this will stop the water flowing.
3. or it's possible you could have a faulty cold water solenoid valve.**
cold water pipe on wall> water valve# > blue cold water hose > * *cold water solenoid valve on machine.

No cold water coming into machine

Follow the cold water line inside the washer where it connects to a 'Fill Valve' which is a valve/solenoid. Using an electrical test meter check the two wires at the solenoid for 110 volts when the machine is calling for cold water. If there is voltage but no cold water the valve is most likely bad. You may also want to pull the hose to make sure you have water running through the hose from the spigot. With the hose off at the valve look to see if there is a screen at the valve that might be clogged.

Why does cold water mix with the hot when the switch is set on hot

Depending on the age of the unit you may be looking at a faulty switch. Sometimes the contacts for the cold water solonoid on the switch may be fused shut and therefore you will always get cold water no mater what you select. If hot water is what you need the easy way to do this is select hot water and close the tap for the cold water until needed again. Hope this helps

I have a Kenmore washer model 110.98762792 and im having a problem with the cold water. When the water temperature switch is set to the cold/cold position the washer does not fill with cold water. W

Since U get warm water that tells you that the cold and hot water solenoids are both operating. Ergo the anomaly has to be with the device that controls temperature.

There is a hot water valve & a cold water valve on the Dexter T300 machines but it is a 2 coil valve. does the hot water valve supply only hot water or does one side provide water to perhaps the...

supplies hot water when needed, cold water when needed. and then warm water when needed. so the second coil is for warm water. it basically mixes the hot and cold water.

How does rhe hot and cold water hook up on a 71-40d which is which top and bottom

Tanks are marked with Hot and Cold.
1) If water connections are on top of tank, look for red marking or word HOT that shows where hot water pipe connects. Look for blue marking or word COLD that shows cold water connection.
2) If water connections are on side of tank, cold water connects to bottom one, and hot connects to top.

3) If hot and cold are reversed, the tank will not work.
Pipes on top of tank: cold water enters tank and is sent to bottom of tank in a long tube called the dip tube. This means the cold is on the bottom since hot water rises to the top. The hot water exits top of tank.
Pipes on side of tank: You want cold water to enter bottom, so hot water naturally rises to the top outlet.

Cold water Washes

It is normal for the machine to cycle between hot and cold water when filling even if selecting a cold cycle. The reason for this is because even a cold cycle requires the water temperature to be 78F for the soap to break up efficiently.

During the cold months the water in your pipes is probably less than 78F so the machine will need to add some hot water to bring it up to this temperature. Basically, it is adding cold and then hot water to maintain a temperature in the tub of 78F for cold water cycles.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

Kenmore front load washer: no cold water problem

that's odd.

if you choose cold/cold then check your hose orientation. you could have put the hot water to the cold solenoid.
or the wires have been interchange, the hot water wire was plug to the cold solenoid and the cold water wire was plug to the hot water solenoid.
or hot water is still flowing to your cold water line.

if the cold water solenoid is the problem, then there should be no water at all going to the tub.

try to experiment, try to switch to hot/hot and see what would come out...

tnx 4 using fixya,
