1998 Town & Country Dash Buttons are Flashing on and off

set it on full cold, set it to panel vents, blower motor to high. hold the wash and rear wiper buttons on the control head until all the lights come on. it will run through different tests, different lights will flash and alternate, and when it is done the rear wiper button will flash if everything passed. push it and everything will go out. if other lights still flash when it is done, you have failed the cooldown test because the a/c doesn't work right, or a door calibration did not pass.

I have a 1998 Plymouth voyager and the climate control lights are flashing. I ran a test i found on the internet and got it down to two lights flashing(the ac and the recirculate). I got it to where the...

OK got your message on the other post (About the van) I am assuming that your Voyager is equipped with Automatic Climate Control. Follow the instructions below and you will get a better idea of what is wrong with your system.

Calibration/Diagnostics
1. To enter calibration/diagnostics test, set parking brake. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. With engine idling, turn blower switch to high. Turn mode switch to panel. Open all outlets. Move temperature to full cold.
2. Press and hold rear wash and rear wiper buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds (Until ALL LEDs illuminate). All LEDs should illuminate for 5 seconds. Rear wiper and intermittent rear wiper button LEDs will flash alternately during calibration/diagnostics test.
3. After approximately 60 seconds, if only the rear wiper button LED is flashing, calibration is successful and the system is okay. If rear wiper and intermittent rear wiper button LEDs are flashing, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present. (See "Reading Diagnostic Codes" below)
4. To exit calibration/diagnostics test at any time, press the rear window defogger button, rear wiper button, or cycle the ignition off and then on. Test will automatically terminate 15 minutes after calibration/diagnostics is entered.

Reading Diagnostic Codes
1. Perform calibration/diagnostics test. If a DTC is present after calibration/diagnostics test has been performed, system will flash rear wiper and intermittent rear wiper button LEDs in sequence. Rear wiper represents code level, and intermittent rear wiper button LED represents code value.
2. Each time the rear wash button is depressed, rear wiper button LED wil cycle to the next code level in numeric sequence. After code level 5 is reached, rear wiper button LED will cycle back to code level 1. See table below.

I'm having a flashing light s on the push buttons for the 2 windshield and air conditioner and air flow buttons

(copied and reposted from another person)....I had the same problem you do. What has most likely happened is that the Heater-a/c unit needs to be recalibrated. Here are the steps to do it.
With the engine running and fully warmed up, A/C has to be turned off for at least 5 minutes [don't turn it on at all] and transmission in Park do the following
1. Set the temp control all the way to cold
2. Set the mode selector to Vent [blowing in your face] so air blows out of the dash panel outlets.
3. Hold down the rear washer button [top left] and the rear wiper button [bottom left] simultaineously for about 5 seconds until most all of the heater and ac panel lights blink and then release both buttons.
6. At this point the system should go into a self calibration test which can take up to 60 seconds. While it is calibrating various control panel switch lights will blink as it goes through it's tests.
7. When the system is done calibrating then just the rear wiper light should be flashing and you can exit the test by turning off the vehicle. Wait about 10 seconds and restart the engine and it should be fine. If both the rear wiper and intermittent light are both still flashing after the calibration then there is most likely a problem with the system that will need more diagnosing. This sometimes happens with battery replacement. It sometimes takes a couple of tries to calibrate so don't give up if it doesn't work the first time.

1998 dodge caravan. AC problem. My AC doesnt work, the lights on the dash are blinking. I took the Van to C-Tire to get the AC recharged as the AC clutch was not turn when the van is running. C-tire did a...

do this calibration reset, it will usually rest he lights and the ac will work again, if it doesn't reset you have a part failure and the dealer you need to hook a Chrysler scan tool to diagnose the problem.

CALIBRATION/DIAGNOSTICS TEST ENTRY
TO INITIATE TESTS:
Set Blower motor ON HIGH
Set Mode position to Panel
Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped)
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light)
RESULTS:
All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds
Calibration Test is running when REAR WIPER and INTERMITTENT are alternately flashing. Cooldown test is running if A/C and RECIRC are alternately flashing.
Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit.
After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately

Blinking panel button lights

That has to do with your computer for your body controls, such a/c, heater, wipers, etc...
Most common problem is drinks spilling into the computer which is right between the cup holder. It will eventually cause a problem with a/c most likely.

Wipers

the climate control panel has come out of calibration..
to re-calibrate it you need to have
Set Blower motor ON HIGH
Set Mode position to Panel
Open all A/C outlets
Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped)
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light)

All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds
When done REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit

your a/c system must be functioning properly for it to re-calibrate.

Dodge Caravan 2003 airbag and engine light

Sounds like the HVAC control head needs to be recalibrated. The procedure is fairly easy, Heres how its done:

After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately.

After that the lights should go out and everything should work properly as long as everything is in proper working order.

Good Luck

Flashing lights

Hi, had the same problem today. Solution: Start engine, blower on max, air direction to cabin, press rear wiper and rear wash buttons simulanteously for 5 seconds (all lights now on steady). Calibration test starts and lights flsh alternately. After first test, AC and recurculation lights flash for the cool down test. If all test pass then rear wiper light blinks slowly (press to exit self test). If AC and recurculation test fails then just 2 lights stay on. To repeat this part of the test press just AC and rear wash simulanteously ( may take several attempts and usually best when engine is cold). Again exit by pressing the rear wiper button once it is the only one flashing (slow blink).

This does work but it took me 15 minutes to finally switch them off!!!
