Go to the hp.com site and click on support and select Drivers. On the right side of the page is a link offering to let HP Detect my product. Click that and it should show all wireless devices available for the model you have. If your wanting to reload the driver, just click on each one (one at a time) and if it's the correct driver, it will load up and if not, it will tell you it didn't discover the device. No big deal. Just click on the next one till it recognizes your card and loads up!

SOURCE: Installing a recent Graphics card

Yes, you can. Just plug it in to the slot in your computer and boot up your computer. If everything goes well then it means its good to go. A piece of advise, if it doesn't fit in, then its not meant for it.

Why is my signal stength very low?

Sounds like you need a new wireless card in the one that shows low signal strength. You can buy a good usb wireless card that gets a great signal for less than $30.00

How do i set up wireless internet on my hp pavillion a330n desktop? Do i need a wireless card or is it built in? and where do i put the wireless card if i need one?

Hello,

Yes you need a wireless adapter.

Solution one : Get PCI wireless adapter which you will insert in an empty PCI slot inside your computer.

Solution 2. Buy a USB wireless adapter, which you plug in a USB port.
However, if my memory serves me right, that particular HP pavillion is 5 or 6 years old, and it does support USB 2.0, just USB 1.1

My advice to you is to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card to be installed in an empty PCI slot )or in the one occupied by the firewire )if not needed). This card will provide 4 or 5 USB 2.0 adapters. Then buy a USB wireless adapter, which you will be able to use with other computers.

Hope It helps.

I know this is a silly question but does HP pavillion a6635uk have wireless, the ethernet is working but when do search fro my wireless BT it says no networks, assume it does have one?

You can see the Specs of your Machine here As far as I know there is nothing like Wireless in-built there.
You can refer to the Device Manager under Computer Properties to see what is installed in your computer.

Hi there.
You hit the nail right on the head!! desktops don't come wireless enabled so you will need a wireless card installed into it.
I recommend a wireless PCI card as a Dongle are not that good and can be easily broken.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
