I charged the battery and when I put it in the camera and press the power button the orange light next to the play button turns on for a moment, flashes and then turns off. When I plug my camera into my computer, the display screen still works so it's not a problem with the screen. I bought new batteries and charged them but the camera still does the same thing as before. What else could be wrong with it?

If you know the battery works then take it out, and hold down the power button for 20 seconds. Next put the battery back in and plug in the power cord. The orange charging light should turn on. Once the blue charged light comes on, try to turn on your laptop.
Try to perform power drain first. Please follow procedure below.
Take out the battery
Unplugged the power adapter
Press and hold the power button for 30secs
Put the battery back in
Plugged in the power adapter
Turn ON the computer
If same issue will happen after this troubleshooting. I suggest you purchase a new battery. If you unit is still under warranty, you may call IBM tech support for battery replacement.

This light flashes to show the camera is out of focus or you need to turn on Automatic flash in low lighting conditions.
The reason you must press the button half way is to engage auto focus. If you take pics by pressing once without doing this the picure is likely to be poor quality.
Keep practising the two push method with the button as it takes a while to get used to it. There is no way of changing this method other than ignoring it with subsequent poor results.
