How to remove the oirplane mode from my dell laptop computer

Do the following tasks:
Reinstall your video driver


Check for registry issues
Start the computer in safe mode and run System Restore
Also Removing the graphics driver in safe mode might work for you. Just remove it via Device manager.

If black screen still appears then use a system utility software like ReginOut.

F-8 is the key, Try to "cold start" the computer, meaning remove the power plug from wall outlet or uplug from computer, remove battery, now replace battery and plug computer into wall outlet. Push the on button while "TAPPING" the F-8 key repeatedly Tap, tap, tap, until you hear a beep or it load the black menu with safe mode options. Lost Windows password:

• Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode.
  
• Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
  
• Reformat computer.

This sounds like a video issue. Try starting the system into safe mode (after the dell screen, tap F8 to get the startup menu and then select safe mode) When in safe mode, go to the control panel and remove the display adapter driver from the device manager under System > hardware tab. Try booting into normal mode windows- you should be able to get into windows at that point. Download and reinstall the graphics driver from support.dell.com. If the issue reoccurs after you've reinstalled the graphics driver, it means that the video card on your system has gone out. At that point, contact Dell technical support if you are in warranty to get service- if not, try pricing the replacement video card from Ebay or Dell parts service.

Restart your computer, press "F8" once you see the Dell logo in the beginning and go in via Safe Mode. Once in safe mode go in via Administrator and remove the password in the user settings.

The display drivers maybe corrupt.

Boot the machine into safe mode. Right click on My Computer (XP) Computer (Vista) and select manage from the sub menu.
When the window pops up select Device Manager.
A device list will populate. When it has look down the list for Display Adapters. Click on the + icon next to Display Adapters to it expands. Right click on the display adapter and select uninstall.

Restart the computer and let it boot in normal mode.
If it boots in normal mode let it detect the Display and install the drivers for it.
I would be a good idea to update the display drivers via the Dell support website.

If it still won't display in normal mode please post back.

If you have any windows xp bootable cd use that to fix the problem by running the command chkdsk /r/f or you can try with this just restart the system in safe mode with command prompt and type the command like c:\windows>chkdsk
And
c:\windows>chkdsk /r/f

There are two options you can try:
First boot up and hit F8 to put it in Safe Mode. Then go into your Control Panel>Add/Remove programs and uninstall Service Pack 1. Reboot and see if that works. If not try this:

Boot up into Safe Mode again by hitting F8 when it starts up. Click on Start>Programs>Accessories>System>System Restore (It may be a little diff but that is close). Click on System Restore and walk thru the Wizard, this will restore your computer to an earlier date before you installed Service Pack 1. Good Luck.
