No maps states that there is no maps

When updating your map you may have chosen a version that does not have your state.... like canada and eastern USA... etc... try reloading your map and select via mapsource the map that carries your state. Or install a 4 gb sd card with the full map if your nuvi has the card slot on the side... good luck

Take a look at what map is on your unit. Press the wrench/tools icon on the main menu, then the map icon, then the map info button. Most likely, you do not have all of the states in the map and probably a limited region like lower 49 states, southwest or lower 49 states, northwest, etc. You will need to download the full US map. However be aware a full map may not fit on your unit and may have to put the map on an external SD card.

You need to have both the US & Canada Map on the unit. You probably only have the lower 49 states of the US map.

No updated maps are available for the Finedrive line of GPS'

NOT KNOWING WHAT MAKE , BUT CHECK THROUGH SETTING/PROFILE SCREEN FOR MAPS THEN A BOX SHOWING WHAT MAPS TO USE THAT SHOULD BE TICKED, IF NOT TICKED TICK THEM, COS IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR UNIT HAS NO MAPS

Map updates are at the mercy of governments from the state level on down to the local municipality at the village level and as such a new street may not be added to the states map updates for a year or more. Your best solution is to contact the state department of transportation and inquire about the status of the update of the states road map and to contact your gps units manufacturer about the same.

Unfotunatly you will have to purchase the map from TomTom.

Go into "Map Info" and make sure that check box is checked, so the system can "use" that map.
