I'm about to purchase the Jenn Air 9900 and want to know if I can do the downdraft installation myself. Where do I find the instructions for the installation of the downdraft...? George ([email protected])

no duct work instructions on the Jenn Air website. it would be helpful since i plan to put the down draft cook top in an island - so the duct work needs to be done before the ceiling in the basement below goes up.

We have a Jenn-Air oven and want to put in an island with a cook top. We have a house on a slab and it has a second story. The island is about 6 feet from the oven and need to know your opinions on how to draft the island which will sit in the middle of the room.

We have a problem with the vent on our Jenn-Air gas range.
We have a crawl space underneath the house and the vent goes down through the floor and out the side. However, we are getting cold air back up through the vent, causing quite a draft. The flap on the outside vent closes and opens properly. What else could be causing this back air to come up form the outside??

My Jenn Aire is a downdraft through the slab to outside. Problem is this unit ducts off the unit back toward the cabinet wall with not enough space to us a 90 round duct. It must use some sort of flat rectangular duct that transitions to a round duct. Where do I get such a duct? Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Randy

Minimal 6" duct no more than 20 feet long and 90's count as 5 feet. 90's must not be closer than 18" this will meet local codes regarding the venting also an approved exhaust hood. (not a dryer vent)

We're buying a JES9900BAF for an island and found ducting instructions in the installation guide. Go to jennair.com and find the page for your range model. Then click on the "Specs/Literature" tab (it's about 2/3 down the page). The installation guide is a PDF document.

Jenn-Aire JDS9860 AAP. My 18 year-old Jenn-Aire oven clock display doesn't work, but we are able to turn the oven on. However, the oven turns off about 10 minutes into cooking.

Call for service. You likely need a new display module. If you fancy trying to fix it, you try and get in behind it and check the connections to it. Remove, clean and replace.

Jennaire gas range, down draft fan jds9865bdp

The Jenn-Air JDS9865BDP is a gas range with a downdraft ventilation system. The downdraft fan pulls smoke and cooking odors down and out of the kitchen, eliminating the need for a hood and providing a sleek, integrated look in the kitchen.

. Burners will not work unless the down draft fan is turned on and then neither works at full capacity.I flipped the breaker off and on.

Call Jenn-Aire to have a technician troubleshoot your cook top on site. You will save time and aggravation whether your cook top is gas or electric, possibly wired improperly, etc, etc, etc.

Replacing an old jenn air electric cook top with new 30" down draft gas cooktop. Need to know how to secure the cooktop to the granite countertop.

You should just be able to set the cooktop in after you attach the downdraft, usually there are tabs on the downdraft that clamp on to the granite cutout. There is probably a closed-cell foam strip that runs under the lip of the cooktop, I would just make sure it seals to the granite properly (no gaps) and put a couple dabs of silicone in between the lip of the cooktop and the granite. Usually the cooktop is heavy enough that the silicone will keep it from moving around.

Installing JED8230ADB Cooktop Grill with down-draft exhaust

I can't imagine directing the downdraft vent back up to a traditional hood type system. Why bother, just don't use the downdraft or get a cooktop without a down draft and save money.

In granite, yes for any cooktop as long as someone can cut the correct size hole. Cooktops must be installed so the top is just about flush with the countertop. They all come with a template for cutting the right size hole in the countertop.
