How do I properly hook up the metal tubing to vent my dryer?

-There are many way to connect it. You can use
big hose clamp about 5" Diameter, or connect together then use 2 screws and then use duck tape over to seal any gap.

Good Luck

I have a KitchenAid clothes dryer and the drying cycle will not cut off automatically, i have to stop the dryer manually. What is the problem?

you have a bad exhaust sensor on the unit, when the clothes are dry and the temperature raises hotter and hotter, the sensor realizes the clothes are dry and breaks the circuit, the sensor is located on the exhaust tube. the exhaust tube is what the hose attaches to to vent the air outside, take the exhaust tube off, then the back of your dryer and look to see where the tube is that vents from the dryer to the back where the attachment was, there should be a sensor there with two wires, you can test it for continuity but it will probably be stuck closed so you will get continuity no mater how hot it gets, just replace it with a new on... its probably 25 bucks

My frigidaire dryer model number gler341as2 is giving me a burning smell why is that?

Hi kmcgilvery...
That burning smell is probably a lint build up in the blower system of the dryer.
You will need to remove the back of the dryer and look for the vent tubing going to the hose connected to the outside. Once you find the tubing then disassemble and clean the tubing and blower wheel of dust...then clean your flexible vent tubing you have attached to the back of the dryer.

Frigidaier dryer just moved trying to attach dryer vent to back of dryer. only has opening. am i missing a tube that should be there to attach hose to?

Yes their should be a tube that sticks out of the back about 6-8 inches the vent is connected to.The part number for that tube is 131451600 it could be purchased atyour local appliance parts store or it could be ordered online at;
searspartsdirect.com
apdepot.com
repairclinic.com
apwagner.com
partselect.com

to replace that tube the entire dryer must be disassambled to get to the blower housing to connect

The dryer is getting the clothes hot, but not drying. What causes this problem? Thanks

venting issue, you can disconnect vent tube and run a load of clothes if it dries then it is the vent tube, if not then the dryer will need disassembled and all the lint clean out from the lint trap to the end of the dryers vent tube, if is recommended to clean the lint out of the inside of the dryer at least once a year, varying on usage, and the lint screen each time before/after use. Hope this helps Tim

There is not much hot air in dryer so it takes a long time to dry one load

restriction in the vent tube or dryer itself: first remove vent tube run the dryer if it drys correctly vent tube, if not then take dryer apart and clean the lint from below lint screen to vent tube connection. Good Luck Tim

Dryer drys but gets hot and shuts off when vent tube is attached . When vent tube is not attached it wokrs fine ! Vent tube has been checked is not pluged , it is in the basement .

Our machine has done that as well. Our vent tube worked fine for our "old Standard type" Dryer. The front loaders are supposed to have a short vent tube---I think the manual says like 5-7 feet?

My ge Profile dryer is 5 years old and for about a year the drying process became slower and slower as the heat within became cooler and cooler! Im thinking thats the heating element. My question is how do...

This is dued to lint build up in the dryers venting tubes. If you completely tear the vents off and clean them inside thoroughly it will run like ne again. It will be better to replace accordian stle tubes than to clean them if that is what you have on yours

A moister sensor detects the build up and keeps the heat in check

Old electric dryer started throwing the breaker and got very warm Bought a new dryer and breaker is still being thrown

It isn't your dryer OR your breaker.
It's your exhaust vent or ducting.
Check your Dryer vent tube for kinks/bends and dust deposits. I have even found dead squirrels in those.
Also make sure that if you use an extended dryer vent hose, that it has no severe angles or bends-Flats Spots etc.
In the unlikely event that it is the breakers, make sure your amperage rating matches the dryer it is attached to.

My dryer turns on, but it won't start drying. It

Clean out you vent tube the full length. Try a load with the vent tube off. It will take a coulple of days for the board to reset the sensor function. Re attach the vent tube.
