The problem is more than likely the magnetron when it is running.

you will have to replace the microwave, sounds like a burned out magnetron, replacing the magnetron is almost as expencive as a new oven...

CHECK THE MICROWAVE MANUAL LOOK FOR FACTORY WARRANTY ,MUST BE A BAD COMPONENT ,IF YOU MICROWAVE IS UNDER 1 YEAR WARRANTY THE FACTORY WILL REPAIR IT AT NOT COST TO YOU..CONTACT GE FACTORY.

remove the two and 3 maybe in the air grill at top of oven . behind inthe center is the filter . ( very pricey // about 60.00 / the make sure it seated properly so the air flow is through filter .. replace front grill and your done .. ****
