I just got a used rc car from a friend its a older version but he told me it works i cant start it its a kyoshy nitro rc car
Kyosho makes good R/C's
to start any nitro car you need new or fully charged batteries in both the car and the transmitter. ensure that the steering and throttle servos move freely before attempting to start. also check the condition of the filter and the glow pug in the cylinder head....8mm or 5/16" to remove.
now you need a glow igniter http://www.wholesaletrains.com/Detail.asp?ID=200402968 or similar and some 20% nitro fuel http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/837828.asp
last you will need a starting device, starter box or maybe it has a pull starter.
fill tank (not too full) prime the carb (pushbutton on fuel tank or by blowing into the hose that connects from the exhaust to the tank) turn on radio, attach glow igniter and start, remove igniter after a minute of running and have fun.......some carb adjustments may be needed
clockwise to lean and counter clockwise to richen
engine should run at around 220 to 240 degrees F.
if you don't have a temp gun then spit should sizzle on the head when up to temp. pinch fuel line or remove air filter and block carb to kill
note...when it runs out of fuel it will run faster and hotter right before it dies as it's running lean. always drain leftover fuel out of tank when done and be cautious of fuel dripping out of the exhaust ruining whatever it drips on. good luck
Nitro engines can be difficult to start and keep running unless they are in perfect tune. This take quite a bit of experience, even the experts have difficulties sometimes Go to http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/ for web help. Or go to your local hobby shop and ask for help.
