Moultrie ac8 brand new camera taking blank pictures and the flash isn't working at night it is suppost to be infra-red and a lot of the pictures it I taking are just black I have purchased two of them and both are doing the same thing. they both have brand new batteries, and the sensitivity of both cameras seem to be very poor. it will not take a icture unles I stand in front of it and wave my arms. I went through al the settings and everything seems to be set right. anybody have any tips?

I do not have an answer, but do have the same camera with the same night time problem. I have just used it for the first time and all the night pictures are black. I assume the flash is not going off. I have a second one that I will test as well. Maybe some one knows something else but I find now way to toggle the flash off and on.

Not being able to take pictures _at night_ likely has nothing to do with your SD card. If the SD card works during the day, it should be fine at night, too.
Any camera needs some light to take pictures. Many use flash to take night time pictures, or infra-red (IR) lighting. I don't know your camera well enough to know if you have either or how to configure how to turn that on.

No night pictures

You cant see infrared flash, but it is not working. The only way to check this is with special equipment. If the unit is new, send it back.

Won't take night pictures
Two possibles: either the IR flash is bad,or the day/night sensor is bad.Unless you have parts from another M80,best bet is to try Moultrie support and send it in. However, they may tell you to buy another camera.

Moultrie D50 game trail camera won't take pictures in dark
Does the flash work? Could be flash circuit or day/night sensor.If you have another D40/D50 camera that flash works but has other problems,swap out the sensors.If not the sensor but the flash circuit then most likely one of the large charge capacitors which has to be soldered in.I use a digital multimeter with I/O capacitor test function..these caps should be about 250mfd.

My Moultrie Came Camera takes pictures at night but they are just black, flash doesn't seem to be working, once in a while it will work, shows 18 pictures taken, only one came out. Batteries are showing 70%.

The flash has gone out
just read a post from someone else .sounds like a capacitor.it stores the charge for the flash he said he contacted moultrie and they dont send out parts , mine is doing the same thing sounds like it is time to try a different brand,this sounds like a problem that they will only fix under waranty no recalls like automobiles would have ,to bad they are going to lose cstomers over such a small problem they dont want to deal with.

Problem
it isnt the infra red.

on you dvr machine there should be settings or settings on the camera for mirror and flip.

these are features on better cameras and are normally on the camera body, but veiwable on the cctv monitor. they should be menu driven.
