if the installed operating system is windows 7, change the user account control settings and drag the bar to low level...you can find the user account settings by typing it on the search textbox..
I am not sure whether this drivers actually works or not. But this is what i found...
(canon i990 printer driver for xp). Open the link and click on the floppy like icon just below the "canon i9900 v1.75a printer driver...."
