How to unmute garmin 2557 - Garmin nuvi 205W GPS Receiver

I need instructions for a old kit I have #2557??? What is this?

The Nuvi 2557, will only be able to pair with a compatible smartphone.

Setting the current time to "automatic" will solve this issue. I don't know why, but it does.

Try updating the device at the Garmin website. You will need a usb cable to connect to your computer.
If you don't have a usb cable for the Garmin you can try one from a camera,camcorder, mp3 player as long as it fits into the mini usb port on the Garmin.You will need to also download Garmin updater. The software updates usually fix these odd problems.

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

Does your Nuvi 200 have a headphone jack? If so, try that with a pair of headphones. If you hear sound, then your internal speaker went bad. It's a known problem with the Nuvi.
