The cd changer does not work. what can i do to troubleshoot

If your 6-disc CD changer in the trunk of your 2002 Mercedes CLK430 was working fine yesterday, but is now displaying a "No CD Changer" message, there may be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

if any changer will work with it, it would have to be a kenwood changer. it may not even run a changer. the newer decks do not operate changers anymore. everyone is into ipods these days

If the CD Changer was working previous to the installation, you may have damaged the cable on installation when routing it through the vehicle.

The cd changer internal mechanism is faulty, replace the cd changer itself.

Any kenwood changer will work. That head unit also supports DUAL changers
Any FM Modulated changer wil also work.

Error 11 means the CD is in upside down, flip it over and it will work like a champ.

Did you change the battery ? If so try disonnecting and reconnecting the CD changer.

Are you placeing cds face up or face down in the changer, some cd changers will only play with the cds face down.

Remove the player and have it repaired, that is all you can do.
