One can't change an IMEI number - it is illegal and is one method police use for identifying stolen phones. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer!

The IMEI no. is like a serial number for that phone- once it is there it is there- there is no legal way to change it- and any illegal way would only change the number on the back of the phone not its history. what you have is what you have. But why would you want to change the IMEI on the phone itself. It is not uncommon to call a carrier to have the IMEI updated because you have another phone- but if you give them the wrong IMEI or a false one which you have managed to somehow change- it will do you no good, it does sound like this phone has a history you do not want traced for some reason-either way you cannot easily, if at all, change the IMEI

If you have any paperwork for your stolen mobile phone you should be able to find your IMEI number. If you pass this on to your mobile phone company they will be able to block the phone.

Call up your service provider, and report that your phone has been stolen, also tell them your IMEI number (this is written on the packaging of the phone, i.e. the box that came with it on a sticker). Even if you end up doing it, you must know that changing a mobile phone's IMEI number is considered a criminal offence according to the criminal code. Even if you are holding any data or device with the intention of changing an IMEI number, you could be taken for trial.

Hi, the only way you can get it blocked is by having the phones imei number, if you still have the box then it will be printed on the sticker or if you registered the phone then contacting your service provider will get it blocked.

but if how ever you never registered the phone or you no longer have the box then the only thing you can block is your sim card you need to ring the service provider and give them your phone number and they will then block the sim card to stop people getting your numbers and details that way but this wont get the phone blocked.

if you do have the phones imei number then all you need to do is call the police and say you have either lost or had the phone stolen they will then ask for the imei number and they will then block the phone and knowbody will be able to use it again.

the imei number is the phones identification number and giving the police this number will mean they can blow a chip in the phone and it will no longer be usable but without the imei number its impossible to do as your sim card could be in another phone by now or they could have thrown your sim away and put another in the phone so without the imei number their is nothing you can do apart from block the sim card.

You cannot change an IMEI number.

The IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is unique to the device itself and is hard coded. If it has been blocked that would normally mean that the device has been lost or stolen.

Presumably that is not the case here, so can you exlplain what has happened and I will try to help.

The unique IMEI code allocated to your phone has been blocked because your phone has most likely been reported as stolen or using a fake/illegal IMEI.

If it is not the case, and if you are the original owner and you are using the original IMEI as indicated on your device identification label, contact your Mobile service provider and ask them how to remove this IMEI number from the worldwide shared IMEI blocked list.

You cant, the IMEI number is used by networks to indentify your phone and check it's not blocked (stolen) there is a fine and possible jail term for changing your IMEI to anything different thanit is meant to be. You can legally repair your IMEI if it's become corrupt but only to the original number
