SOURCE: husqvarna pull cord problem

I had this happen after about 15 uses. I just exchanged the unit. The pull start mechanism can be ordered and is easy to replace. There are parts inside that are nylon and break easily. Any local dealer can order the part for you.

SOURCE: pull cord will not retract

This takes some mechanical skill and knowledge to fix...definitely would take it back..I would have thought these manufacturers could have fixed these idiotic quality control problems by now....it goes on and on and....I know, folks would say..ya get what ya pay for....so in this case, you paid for a useless machine that you never even were able to use...that is NOT what you were SUPPOSED to get now was it!

323 L Husqvarna Trimmer pull cord wont retract. Put in a new spring driver, other spring is fine. The plastic Drivers are holding the spring in its spot. I've tried the bolt tight and lose.

Check binding of the pulley on it post, that washer is not biding the pulley. Too much side play between pulley and post will cause binding. Also make sure spring in seated in the housing correctly.

  • Rope length before tying knots 30"
  • Rope size no larger than #4 (1/8") Preferablely #3-1/2 (7/64)
  • Tension on pulley. wound tight and back off approxiametly 1 turn.

Husqvarna hedge trimmer hard to pull cord

check the piston inside the cylinder for extreme wear. If it feels sticky and is hard to pull it sounds like a lack of oil in the cylinder and it has started to seize.

Pull Rope Broke... How do I replace it and still have it retract?

with the cover in your hand pull the cord out with a pair of needle nose pliers or a little screw driver and where the cord go through the case and before the wheel. pull 5 to 10 inches out and wrap the cord around the wheel turning the wheel but not winding the cord on., do 3 or 4 wraps then pull the handle to get all the cord out and let it retract. if not enough rewind just repeat with 2 wraps
