I had this problem too. My built in mic wasnt working, but i went to the list of programs (Classic view of the start menu) and under the program folder TOSHIBA > Speech System it'll have a choice "Configure Microphone." After I went through that, it worked fine. Make sure you restart your webcam software though after you've done that if you had it open like me. Hope this works!

In garageband when you have the gtrack set up , it will show you 2 options for input source 'USB Audio CODEC'. This is because you have 2 lines in, the mic and the jack. Make sure you have picked the correct one to record the vocals...otherwise it is expecting the jack input and will record nothing.
Hope this helps!

Welcome to the world of STUDIO microphones. Super quality BUT you must have a studio to use them. You can't have any local speaker playing into them. You often use headphones lest your monitor speakers will feedback. At the high frequency capability of these mics, you can fry your amps with oscillations above what you can hear!

The quick, easy solution is to change your microphone to mono recording. In the attached YouTube clip, I'll show you how to do that.
The short and simple is to go to your Mac HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Audio MIDI Setup. Select your C01U USB device, and set it to 1ch 16bit. This will set the microphone to record in mono, equally over both speakers.

Hi, You can check you the connectios or the mic. remember that the mic is too sensitive, you can adjust it with the nobb on the mic by putting it on o -dB and reduce the highs on your mixer or EQ to reduce hiss sound.
But fisr check the connection properly to see if when muted, is muted properly.
Take care.

I had this problem after a Win10 patch was pushed to my computer. After a lot of attempts that didn't work (Samson has a bios patcher), I simply tried connecting it into a different USB port on the other side of the laptop. This fixed it. Not sure why... could be a newer or older USB version port. One helpful thing to note is that if the samson meteor mic is not identified correctly, it will list it as a USB composite device. If switching USB ports doesn't work, you might try uninstalling one of those to see if you can prompt the computer to reinstall the drivers.
